Just saw this post- I'm 49 and have been into BLACK metal for over 25 years, but my passion for Duran Duran has never died. They were my first favorite band; I'm estimating that was a few years before 85 because I remember freaking out when I heard Simon almost died in the yacht race incident! I'm so proud of them. My passion has been rekindled once again; I saw them live this past November and I'll be traveling to catch them several times in 2025! Good to know there's another metalhead out there who remembers their roots! Two horns up!!!

In the 80's Duran Duran was often dismissed as a teenager's pin up band. They weren't taken for the serious musicians and artists they clearly are. As a long time fan I can say they have just gotten better and better. Saw them live again over summer and it was even better than the shows I'd seen previously. They aren't up there just going through the motions. They truly love performing for fans and playing great music with one another. There is true love within the band. It's a friendship and partnership and artistry that as withstood the test of time. I can't wait for the new album, this single is exceptional. What a fun song and video!
@SarahB1863 Жыл бұрын
The popularity of Duran Duran as a teenybop band was a deliberate move on the band's part. They wanted to break in America and decided the best way to do that was to appeal to the tween set, so that's how they aimed their publicity, appearing in Tiger Beat and Teen Beat etc. It worked - they were HUGE in America and #1 in the WORLD at the time of Live Aid - but when the tweenagers inevitably aged out of liking them they found themselves in a world where teens were more into New Kids on the Block and the adults didn't take them seriously because, well, they were a teenybop band. It took them a long time to regain their status as a serious band. I'm glad they stuck around!
@jerryhinds6009 Жыл бұрын
@@SarahB1863Your opinion on they lost a lot of fans who didn't take them serious, is very pointed, just my opinion. As a true Fan of Durans, I , myself never stopped watching, listening or not going to their concerts. They grew and evolved threw the years, every tour & every album. I believe I'm being brutally honest when I say their 2 worst albums were, Pop Trash & Medazzaland, ok and half of Red Carpet Massacre. One of my favorite album is "Astronaut " and a lot of people think it sux. The song on the Album Astronaut are relevant today. Maybe it was just an album put out before it's time? No, it was right on time, humans were just too busy sleeping, and it feels like 70% of them have not woke up yet. Such is Life! Duran Duran are #1 Muse are #1 as well. ✌️👍🙏💙

We still like their music, regardless of the tools they are using to make their video's. You can tell DD are back to business. They have been killing it the "Future Past" few years. Looking forward to this album.

I have to say I'm surprised this is not getting more comments/Likes. I'm loving it more every time it spins through my playlist.

Probably wait until closer to the release date for that. I hope it gets more air time in the media too.

A new DD tune in a Tim Burton style video, I adore !! DD still innovative ! Thanks a lot for being there for us in 2023 !

Jeez....that chorus melody!! Haunting. I can hear this segment being used in a movie soundtrack.

Too bad this isn’t playing on MTV like it would of been in the eighties. Because it’s great 👍🏻

Барабаны Роджера прекрасны, такой плотный звук! Джон как всегда гениален на басу, Ник великолепен, вокал Саймона свеж ( хотя реп точно не его кредо). В итоге как всегда крепкая работа дюранов, новаторская!

Yes and that coraline film aswell 🙂 the women's faces reminded me of the normal versions coraline etc not the other coraline with button eyes 🙂

Yep... It's possible that all this kind of marvellous aesthetic characteristics from those artists you have mentioned were stolen to create IA-video. That why IA is shit. Support real artist please!
@lotsoffun4108 Жыл бұрын
@@leonardopalacios4673 not stolen...how do you not know the very same artists worked on this video???? They are allowed to spread their wings you know and collaborate in order to: earn money

I love this song! I’ve been a fan since 1983. I remember all the posters I had of them up in my room from floor to ceiling! I just love Duran Duran. I saw them live this summer and it was the best concert I’ve been to. Simon still looks great! 😍

Duran Duran has always had an edgy side, sometimes dark, mysterious and incredibly sexy and sensual. Pretty amazing how you can watch a video of ghouls and still see a sensuality of some of the obviously female ghouls. The song and the video are mastery. Duran Duran never disappoints.

Who cares if it's Al? It's cool
@septimusheikler8104 Жыл бұрын
@@bonniefarley5394 It's because they were measuring it as artistic genius like it was a human creation. It's just an AI facsimile of what the creator wanted. Sure it's cool to some people, but you can't call Duran Duran artistical Geniuses for using AI art. You can call them Artistical Geniuses for their music however.

Holy crap. It is like the mood of Night Boat, the groove of Electric Barbarella, and the video concept of Wild Boys, but then set on fire and transformed into something unlike them all. Un-frickin'-believable. 17 stars of out 5. Again.
