I saw them Live about 23 years ago.... Till this day they 're still the best sounding band in concert I've ever heard

40 years later still pitch perfect. Same key as well. Simon’s voice is 24k 👍

Interesting comment. I always thought this song sounded a bit off on the record. It's on my list of mysteriously off key songs that got famous. Rio is another one. He is on key here tho
@matthewward5813Ай бұрын
@@jamesreynolds4272 That's because they usually record in a key that pushes their voices when they are young and as we know as we age we can't get as high. But since Simon recorded this back then in a key that wasn't too hard to hit then, well he can still do it. Smart really... These groups didn't think they would be doing these songs in their 60's and 70's...

That and a tad of Autotune but to be fair it only works if your slighty off if your miles off you stutter by the end you can here the Autotune is kicking in big time and they've dialed up the echo and reverb because he's running out of breath a bit flat.

To be fait half the early Bon Jovi stuff was almost high pitched enough that only dogs could hear it... They stopped doing a lot of the hits in the original key sometime in the early 90s. That said, if they keep going along the same progression, Livin On A Prayer will sound like it's being sung by Isaac Hayes

OK.. bon Jovi blows now but let's be real.. first Simon is using pitch correction here at times.. and duran duran is super easy to sing in comparison.. he almost never pushed his vocals.. they were all pretty middle of the road.. vocally not super straining

One of the iconic songs of the '80s. The video hit the U. S. in late '82 and immediately (and justifiably) made the band a sensation. In 2022, Le Bon sounds fantastic, his lyrics are still evocative, and the band still packs a punch.

Some lyricists write straight thru very to the point. Most great Motown jams were simple "I love u /feel so blue " etc as a writer of novels unpublished lol, where my kind slipped the most from yrs ago is synonyms like the description of something in multiple ways , upsets me. Anyways Dylan, Springsteen used alot of multiple words n meanings Bruce alot of imagery as he grew they got more to the point n less wordy yet remained beautiful. Born To Run 3rd album from him and the E Street Band was the beginning of the excellent work then songs got shorter n still great images. The River was his most accessible album. Bottom line Simon gets NO CREDIT now with the H o F he does I hope. Incredible writing. Even Moz writes intelligent but straightforward. Simon is so cryptic all his lyrics r not ez to decipher. They jump in the middle of something n u go for the ride. Some r easier or Rio for example has parts ez to understand but most r a rapid "in the moment train of thought " I forget how it's best described but I think it's called like stream of consciousness writing. These continuous thoughts that come to a sum of their parts. Incredible. Deeper than most. Depeche Mode n Morrissey while makin u think u still sing along. Love it!
