Many dont realize how much Duran Duran revolutionized the music industry back then until now. It wasnt that MTV alone changed it for them, but they did have videos that were far better than the average back then. Also their music was different to the standard new romantics back then, as they mixed dance, rock and later funk into the music. Which was way ahead of the industry.

Cute guys (I mean you, John, especially)--hey, what can I say? Teenage girl. The only barrier to between us and loving Duran Duran was hearing that first song. It just makes me soooo happy they’re all still alive, still (back) together, and still making great music. Since junior high their sound and fashion has been a joy in my life. And Roger is one of my favorite drummers. If I ever succeed in drumming Rio, it will be a personal victory. And no other singer I’ve ever heard sounds even remotely like Simon.

Their fans from '80 like you and me are thinking they will pass me in life expectancy. Hey good luck on Rio I recently purchased a drum set

Great interview. The love, appreciation and respect they have for each other permeates throughout. We need to step back and appreciate the genius of Duran Duran. We are all so lucky that this band still exists. 40 years strong. Collectively, their genius still yields brilliant results.

I received my CD of Future Past on Saturday, it was a birthday gift from my son as my birthday is the 22nd October, I was all ready to play on my tv until I realised it was my old tv that had a CD/ DVD slot, so I'm ordering a portable CD player, can't wait to listen to it...

Future Past had me in tears! This is such a great album I keep hearing more and more every time the songs repeat. Quality album. Something missed in new artists music today. But then again most now so called artists are puppets………….

Good lord, that was a fast hour. What a beautiful, relaxed, respectful, and introspective (without being navel-gazing) interview. Rob Sheffield is a class act. I love when an interviewer can bring their own take on things without being intrusive. It truly felt like an open conversation where each side could share ideas and build upon them, and I think he offered insights that delighted and surprised them. As for the band, man, I could listen to them talk all day about their careers, craft, and anecdotes.

I still remember exactly where I was the first time I heard Hungry Like the Wolf. Also, The Union of the Snake. Duran Duran was the first concert I attended. Saw them at the Hampton Colosseum in Norfolk Virginia. I snuck a camera into the venue and still have the photos I took to this day! The concert was magical. Duran Duran was my first musical love and has endured all of these years. Truly one of a kind! 💖

For many years I used to consider Duran Duran as a pre-fabricated band, and as years passed I discovered they are very talented musicians, specially John and his recognizable basslines. This delightful interview shows a face I didn't expect so see from them. They look like a group of friends talking music in a relaxed way and respecting each other's interventions. This is delighful.

I know I am repeating what many others have already said but this interview well deserves the praise: a very talented band who truly care about their art, each other, and other artists, all of which is very rare and Rob Sheffield"s skilled, informed, and light interviewing style which enables us to truly get to know the band, is all amazing and very enjoyable. You learn a lot, enjoy some laughs, and feel like you are actually sitting in with the group. Good wishes for continued success and happiness, DD!

When you have an intelligent insightful interviewer and a wonderfully intelligent band why wouldn't it be euphoric to the listener?? I just love Nick when he talks about the history very much like the Nun with the Bucky teeth talking about famous paintings :)So much enthusiasm .

Wow, listening to these guys is like reading the best music encyclopedia ever written. They describe with such accuracy all the musical trends of the last 50 years. Refreshing and entertaining. You can feel their inner passion burning. And their undivided frienship. Still a great bunch, after all these years. Long live to them.

Welcome to the party, rolling stone. Honest, real interview, very much appreciated. All members are unique, and very talented. The sound that separates them most from the other bands of the 80's, is Andy's guitar. Andy, along with the other talented bandmates, make gold. Stay gold, duran duran

I enjoy interviews where the interviewer relays thoughtful questions, or comments, that instigate insightful discussion amongst the interviewees, and with minimum interruption by the interviewer. This was one such interview. You can tell the Duranees like each other, and still enjoy making music together. Good to see!

i see Simon is still wearing his necklace from the 80's. love it! this is one of my top 3 bands of all time. and their videos are beautiful. i was so enamoured with them and their music, i was the 18 yr old that had a massive crush, collecting every button i could find, every record, every tiger beat magazine, had a hat that was just like Simon's in the hungry like the wolf video. my wall was blanketed in their pictures out of magazines, ran out of room, then started on the ceiling, watched every thing i could find to watch. I still love these guys! save a prayer is my favorite. :D TY!
