I would say the best years for boxing was from about 1976 ( after Rocky 1 and the olympics) until about 1996. During that 20 year period, boxing was on regular tv all the time and there were just a massive amount of great fighters. I really miss that time period. It was a great time to be a kid and a boxing fan.

I agree. You could count on there being a good fight on TV just about every weekend. Name fighters too like Duran, Leonard, Camacho, Hagler, Pryor, Mancini, Arguello, Sanchez, Gomez, and so on. God I miss those days!

Yep, one of the best matchups of the 1980s (Arguello vs. Mancini) was live on free network TV one Saturday afternoon

I vividly recall quality boxing regularly being shown on all three major networks (pre-FOX). Good times.
