The way Amanda Seales handles and manages space and energy, is an artform in itself. She gives room without disappearing into the shadows. You see and feel the flow of true conversation, regardless if there is an agreement or debate. I appreciate her Scholarship and Empathy to ensure that those next to her feel heard by her. This is a teachable moment on Active and Intentionally Listening. Bravo 👏🏾💗✊🏾

I went through this last year with my son. He asked several times if he could paint his nails. After awhile, I decided to give the green light and I painted his nails myself, without making it a big deal. After that itch was scratched once, he’s not inquired or expressed the desire to want to do it again. He felt loved and accepted by the act and gesture of allowing him some space and leniency to be curious and expressive, with moderations and boundaries in place. Our bond has grown even tighter knowing he’s accepted no matter how he chooses to respectfully express himself. Loved this conversation!

I appreciate this conversation. I’ve also never agreed with the concept of coming out because why don’t straight people come out as straight? The obsession with labels is of an opportunity to live a multidimensional life. I would also venture to say women also play a big role in perpetuating ‘down low’ culture. A bisexual woman is bisexual. A bisexual man is gay and when - as a man - you’re seen as being gay, you’re seen as less of a man.
@lk_c7214 Жыл бұрын
I agree with you that the idea of anyone “coming out” seems silly because it shouldn’t matter and like you said as straight people we don’t need to do that, but we also have to be realistic about our current society; sometimes you have to slap people in the face with truth so you aren’t ignored. So in a perfect world no one should have to “come out” but in our actual world silence/lack of public acknowledge can lead to the continuation of oppression.
@SweetMissMikka Жыл бұрын
Yes, I’ve never liked that whole concept. Both women and men play a big role in “DL culture” though and I don’t think one has more responsibility than the other. I know some women that think like that and others that don’t. Same with men.
@PancakeDiaries Жыл бұрын
I respect it because it's very sound... A sexual preference can't be started until u have the experiences to define it. Can't know ur gay if you've never done that... Ur just u until u can define that. I appreciate this shit a lot because ppl act like I'm crazy when I say this.
@AckeeandSaltfish6 ай бұрын
Coming out as straight isn’t a thing because you that is the societal norm. Straight ppl would never have to come out as straight because that’s already assumed unless told otherwise

Man my dad didn’t care that I figured out I liked women. He just wanted to know were we still gonna watch wrestling together and I do my Razor Ramon impressions. Now my momma had to get checked by my protective sisters. They really asked her did they need to step outside respectfully and then my grandmother asked her the same thing. My mom and my grandmother were besties for resties. When it came to me, I was my grandmother’s favorite person in the world and she was mine. I’m empathize with other ppl in my community that don’t have supporting parents/family. I couldn’t imagine not talking on the phone with my sisters on conference calls.

You didn't need to have a conversation to say I'm this or that you already was this or that! Three Blind Mice can see that.
@SweetMissMikka Жыл бұрын
Right, but people do feel obligated to have the conversation bc it has become a societal norm. The conversation needs to move forward about why people are expected to share this information as if they are breaking the bad/disappointing news. How do we expect to progress as a society following these antiquated systems 🤦🏽♀️
@5thavemedia225 Жыл бұрын
@sweetmissmikka6526 LGBTQP HAS WON THE BATTLE OF ACCEPTANCE ! They have FEDERAL LAWS protecting them as people! While there is NO BLK HATE CRIME BILL‼️ they have moved forward to the point that their lifestyle are shoveled down everyone's throat🤥 Antiquated❓️ is this notion that these people have to "come out" and tell everyone about gender persuasion and bedroom etiquette is beyond antiquated.... Why do they believe society gives a FK about them COMING OUT? They don't have a function of reproducing that lifestyle other than adoption, conversion, and global MASS PROGRAMMING. They want to propagate and force it upon you! There Goal is to have you become them! By proxy, LGBTQP COMING OUT is a RECRUITMENT drive for children, the impressionable and gullible!
