Durango, Colorado - A Day in the Mountains Traveling in a Truck Camper

We're spending a day in the mountains of Durango, Colorado traveling in our truck camper. We start out eating breakfast at our campground. We leave camp and head to Lake Nighthorse to spend the day on our SUP boards. Later we set up camp at South Mineral campground next to Ice Lake trail. For dinner Kellie prepares Mediterranean pizza.

My whole family was in Durango 3 years ago for a destination trip to celebrate my parents anniversary. If you guys go back there in the future, I HIGHLY recommend spending a day enjoying the famous train ride from Durango to Silverton and back. Postcard views the entire ride. Definitely worth it!!!

When you get to Silverton, make sure you try avalanche brewing for the pizza, and of course the beer. But, they have the BEST pizza!

Cody and Kelly you should get a air compressor to fill up your paddle boards I see no sun screen on the when you two were paddle boarding and Cody about your sunglasses you should have a shoe string around your neck so you don't lose them take care happy camping

8 minutes in you are asking for advice on the moustache and beard. Here is mine. Shave the beard AND the moustache. Seems like one of your vids you said you are 34 years old. That is a young guy. IBM did a study that determined beards make any salesman look older. Keep the long hair and shave the beard. It is more photogenic!

Vaseline helps make a seal on a mask with a mustache :) It worked for me :)...Didn't go super deep, but give it a shot.

As far as scuba diving… You will learn to clear your mask - so it can be dealt with - and, do some research, there are some masks that work better with facial hair (not perfect, but better).

I always keep my shades in my sunglass mould case in the roof of my car cabin above my head, & they stay in there unless I’m wearing them! And they’re the vans brand & cost me $20

I scuba dive and have a full beard. Just shave about 1/4" below your nose, no one really notices. Use a soft skirt mask like a hollis M-1

Cody, do not shave your mustache for diving. You always have a small amount of water in your mask and you will learn how to clear it under water. I didn’t shave mine during certification. You will be made at yourself if you do! David and Juanita aka grey goose adventures

Hiking trails n parking is a challenge in Colorado 😢. Beautiful beautiful video. We are camping and enjoying our new Starlink and WiFi up in a backcountry campground. New solar is working great too. So fun to have new glamping tools. That pizza looks yummy

Have ya'll been to Pagosa Springs? The Springs Resort has AMAZING hot spring pools, & is well worth the $$. We were there in July and spent an entire day there and it was the BEST! Also, in Durango be sure to do try the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad. They have a steam train that takes you to Silverton, you get off for 1.5 hrs to explore the town and then you get back on and go back down the mountains. It was pricey but was the most scenic train rides ever. Be safe & have a great time.

That cold layer is called a thermocline. You'll learn about it if you get scuba certified. I highly recommend you get certified. I enjoyed scuba for many years.
