By default java takes literal as double no matter if you have defined float.. to accept as float we need to explicitly assign f or F in the floating point literal .

bcz when we use 0 before any integer ,it becomes an octal and allowed digits in octal is 0 to 7 ... in this case there is 8....i hope u get it clearly

Sir, In the previous video of data type you have mentioned that "If we want 5 to 6 decimal places of accuracy , then we should go for float and If we want 14 to 15 decimal places of accuracy , then we should go for double " . So I'm not able to understand the concept here at 45.16 where you mentioned the number is double.
@dineshmittal78375 жыл бұрын
By Default compiler consider Every Floating Point Number as double. And if you don't want High Precision the you can explecitely define it as float.for eg like in sorting program where precision is less important and memory management is more then you can go for float.

we use true or false conditions for loops (if, while ) so compiler expects true of false values. here in the example, we didn't use boolean values that is why the compiler gives an error. In java language 0 or 1 are not considered as true or false but in C language 0 and 1 are considered true or false. Hope you understood.

At 1:01:29 as said by sir integral literals ie decimal/octal/hexadecimal form can assign directly to floating point if hexadecimal is correct why octal is not correct?
@chandanallani7407 жыл бұрын
it took me halfnhr to find the answer .The reason is simple as in 0786 ,8 is not an octal number as jvm assumes that if there is 0 it is in octal form and 8 digit is not octal as octal is from 0to7.whereas in 0xface ,it is clearly in hexadecimal form which is from 0to15
