I love Hey Arnold, which is one of my favorite and greatest Nicktoons. This show was never afraid to display some of the uglier sides of growing up while balancing it with some silver linings for certain characters. Furthermore, it shows that not everybody's family lives are great, considering the harsh realities of dysfunctional families, divorce, parental loss, surrogate families or found families, and broken marriages. Therefore, Hey Arnold is absolutely unbeatable!
@quincycannon93502 ай бұрын
I concur 👍🏾
@operaanimelover3692 ай бұрын
@LawrenceUnknown106 More like suffering marriages found in Bob and Miriam plus Coach Wittenberg and Tish. I can safely assume that Torvald's mother has kept a distance from his father. Sammy Redmond's wife is also nowhere to be seen. Therefore, a good chunk of the marriages found in Hey Arnold are not as harmonious as we would like to think they are.

the epi about helga in therapy is a tear jerker. No wonder she attached to Arnold so hard he was the ONLY one to give her the time of day without her intiaction it. Like that is a valid reason to have an attachment to someone. Bro was the ONLY person in her life to show empathy and got BULLIED for it also i feel arnold knows she likes him but has her weird way of showing it n just lets it happen, that or knows her family is abusive n she cant take it out on them so is letting him be her punching bag

Pretty much wall ball. We played this in my neighborhood growing up. Only thing though is that you don’t stand by the wall, you have to stand with everyone else if the ball bounces off usually it’s a tennis ball and it touches you have to run towards the wall touch it before someone begs you with the ball otherwise, you have to stay in there and have the ball thrown at you afterwards.

Anyone else notice that they almost made Arnold a little too goody-goody from season 2 onward? Don’t get me wrong, I love Arnold either way, but I feel like he was a bit more like a “normal” kid if you will, where he was still the true blue friend he always is, but he still made mistakes every now and again.
@nationalinstituteofcheese30122 ай бұрын
I think it comes from them wanting to make Arnold a role model and the guy who helps everyone else with their problems. I also like to think that losing his parents so early on has made him a somewhat more mature than his friends which tends to happen in children who experienced trauma early on.
@DianneRoberts722Ай бұрын
I think he's kind of a jerk in the first season. Such as when he humiliated that poor man in "Mugged".

@@DianneRoberts722 I get what you’re saying, but in Arnold’s defense, that guy did kind of startle him. Up until that point, you’re right though. Arnold was kind of abusing his power after his kung fu training.

Watched the video all the way through! So good! Can’t wait for your “as told by ginger” video! I feel like changing up the cartoons once in awhile instead of straight Arnold or Rugrats for months is a good idea, but I’m not making these so what do I know! Lol Also you mentioned once that you might get some flack for mentioning how animals shouldn’t be in zoos or aquariums and I think you’re so right, sucks that anyone would disagree. It’s important for kids and even adults to see these animals so they can connect and want to help them, but it’s become a disgusting money grab and the cages/pens/exhibits are WAY too small. All to save money. It’s gross and horrific how some of these animals are treated, especially Orcas, and dolphins. 😢I hope we can stop zoos once and for all in the future.

I'm missing the way cartoons challenged children. Talk to the kids as if they are adults. Talk to adults with purpose. Have a reason for creating art. Didn't appreciate this show when i was younger but i'm amazed how much of this show i remember

At 2:27:04, the spotlights frame a rough heart around Helga. Helga will win some love for Bob if she wins, but she would feel sad if Arnold loses. There is a lot of emotional torment and pride on the line regarding the spelling bee’s outcome.

Fraz Flub is also a complex character like Helga. He's the unlucky sibling/black sheep of the Flub family. His whole life he's been pursued by an evil entity named Mr. Doom who causes him back luck. Mr. Doom also mind controls Fraz's younger dimwitted brother Guapo into hurting him against his will. Why Mr. Doom is so obsessed with causing Fraz pain, suffering, and misery is never revealed. But that fact that he makes it his life's mission to torment Fraz is really twisted and messed up! Also other characters on the show bully poor Fraz while they prefer Guapo.
