Did anyone notice the paramedic's sprint? That guy deserves a medal for reflexes and commitment!

He was very calm, course corrected and untwisted, he then went on to fly the task, cool guy, and on his birthday too.

I'm loving the reactions of the pilot, a calming Jocky, and the applause. We're a tight bunch.

During my hang-gliding time, I was often in the south of France and flew on the Chabre. If the wind vane suddenly hung down or started to turn at the best thermal time, everyone knew that it could get pretty uncomfortable. There were bolts in the rock to safe the Gliders.I once saw two hang gliders including drill hooks, about two square meters of torn rock spar and three people entangled in the ropes being lifted about 1.50 meters by a dust devil

Is the first 7 and a half minutes really necessary?
@GillesMISSLIN6 жыл бұрын
Yes absolutely : what is interesting is that there were no obvious visible signs prior this dust appears... sometimes even no wind. Nothing obvious to warn the competitors. Local people knows that Laragne Chabre takeoff is touchy for these reasons. At Laragne, do not wait on ground, do not wait too long to take the right thermic...
