This song is Ale's baby. Unlike most of the other songs where Pau (Pow) is the main writer, this song was mainly written by Ale. The speaking part is the "Preacher" performed by their manager Rudy who got it done in one take in the studio.

If you want to see the compositional power of these girls and be dazzled by their vocal harmonies, I highly recommend the version they did of Enter Sandman live at this recital. Pau is definitely fun to watch. She's the complete package with the chops, the singing, the writing skills, but what separates her from a lot of other drummers is a flamboyant physical style that's soooo entertaining. Sometimes she'll hit you with her death stare, and then charm you with her smile in the next second. You can't take your eyes off her in concert.

They performed around 175 shows during 2022 and 2023. This was one of two special performances at the Tay-AH-Tro (Teatro) May-tro-poh-lee-tahn (Metropolitan Theater) in Mexico City (Ciudad Mexico). They sold the place out on a Monday and Wednesday night in the dead of summer. It is one of the best filmed, best recorded, best performed, best edited concerts I've ever seen (I'm 68 and have seen a lot of concerts live and recorded). It blew me away the first time I saw it. This is exemplary - all 22 songs of it are pure gold. Play it all!

The Warning and Band Main meet and took a couple of pictures together at Aftershock 2022. Out of all the band each group was able to meet only pictures they took together showed other bands at the festival were posted on their social media channels. I remember The Warning rumoring and hoping for shows with both bands but alas, nothing has come of it. CHOOSE your OWN adventure: If you want to hear Dany show of her vocals, try Choke or Martirio (spanish) if you want to hear Pau take the lead, try 23 if you are in mood for a campfire song, with pau on lead, try Revenant All from Teatro Metropolitan

My favorite example of how confident and fearless they are is probably their performance at Hell & Heaven 2018, a big metal festival in South America. When they walked on stage as teenage girls they raised more than a few eyebrows, especially 13 year old Ale with her pigtails. Half an hour later the arena was packed to the brim, rocking out and I'm sure a lot of new recruits enlisted for The Warning Army that day! One of my favorite Pau moments is a short called: "Pau killing the drums clip". Where she almost stands, in heels, behind her drums, kicking and beating the absolute crap out of that poor kit. 🤣

The thing about three piece rock bands is that they have to be really good at writing, playing, performing, singing and they have to be really really tight. My all time favourite band is Rush; and these three have all the required qualities. They have already been around a while and I think they will be here for a long time to come.

Just an additional comment regarding playing live and mistakes, when they played the VMAs everyone got three takes. The Warning did both songs, one take. And those are some of the tightest performances of their career. They’ve maintained a Herculean practice schedule since they were very young.
@jetblast190
@jetblast190 7 ай бұрын
I think several things factor into why they are such a tight band when they perform live. First, obviously they have natural musical talent and they each started at very young ages learning classical piano, like ages 5 or less. Second, their parents! They are music lovers themselves and recognized the talent their daughters have and they have been there to support them through every step of their musical journey. Next, they started performing together as The Warning in 2013 when they were about ages 13, 11, and 8. They started writing their own music shortly thereafter and self-produced an EP and two LP’s by the time they were 18, 16, and 13. All the while they have been rehearsing, perfecting their skills, and performing live anywhere they could. While they are a “new band” to many of us, myself included…I discovered them back in December and fell straight to the bottom of the rabbit hole…they are not new by any stretch of the imagination. With their 4th LP on the way, and at ages 24, 22, and 19…think about that, Ale is still a teenager (!)…they are skilled and seasoned veterans. The fact that they aren’t more well known than what their brand has already grown is more a statement (indictment perhaps) about the state of the music industry, particularly here in the U.S. if this was the 80’s, their music would be on every rock radio station and their music videos would be on regular rotation on MTV. Everyone would know exactly who The Warning is. I love this band! ⚡️👍🤘💪

Pau did a Masterclass last year (link below) where she described how they endured the "David Bendeth bootcamp" to learn how to play in time and play like humans (in the studio), then she explained when they returned home and tried to practice she said their finally tuned senses revealed they they sounded like shit when they played live, and they had to spend months (Months!) figuring out what was wrong and how to correct it. The end result is the air-tight, supremely confident band we see today. LINK (with closed captions on) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/fX6lqmeviJ1phbs

Live is their Superpower. Now to really blow your mind...Ale wrote this song when she was 11. Not kidding. She wrote the bass line, gave it to Pau (Pow) who filled it out and finished it. Age ELEVEN. Ale has Perfect Pitch and is a human metronome on stage, one of the reasons they sound so good. And, they are pure craftsmen of their instrument(s)...wait till you hear Pau on Piano!
@mjc1389
@mjc1389 7 ай бұрын
Yes, Ale has impeccable timing and perfect pitch recognition and Pau and Ale are always in perfect synch. They do play with a click track for overall timing and as a time reference for the small quantity of backing tracks they do use. Dany and Ale usually have their hair down so you can’t really see their In Earz but Pau wears her hair pulled back a lot so you can see her In Earz fairly regularly on close ups. If you haven’t seen Pau’s masterclass from Soundcheck Xpo I’d recommend checking it out because she plays what she hears in her In Earz for the audience. Pau did mention that she likes to hear Ale's bass in her In Earz which helps keep her in the pocket. I've watched quite a few soundcheck videos and always find it funny that Ale will often ask for Dany's guitar to be turned down in the mix in her In Earz.

They are a live band, they create their songs specifically for live performances. They don't record for the studio they record only what they can actually do live, if they can't do it live then they don't do it. They do use a tracks a little bit but only to embellish the song not become the song, that's why Rudy's voice was tracked he isn't always available to do the speaking part. They also use sound effects like screams etc on tracks and the occasional piano bit. But if the track fails and it has done in the past, the song still sounds great in fact most people don't even notice the track stopped working as they keep on playing regardless and they still blow you away. There was once when Dany's guitar failed hadn't been charged or something when she came to sing Crimson Queen at Foro Didi, instead of just moving on to a different song or stopping her performance she gave us an acapella version of the song with that was simply beautiful to hear. They've had their share of mishaps and technical failures during their shows, but they just carry on as if all was well, no tantrums, no smashing of instruments they are there to perform and they perform no matter what happens, even when they are really ill, they still try and put on one hell of a show.

*Dust to Dust* *Dust to Dust* is the prolog song on DPA/TW's _"Queen of the Murder Scene"_ concept album (aka QOTMS)... it is inviting you in to hear the deep, dark, and foreboding story of a young woman apparently in love with someone that doesn't even know she exists... it is a story about how well things can appear to be going and how fast it can all fall apart... it follows her battles between good and evil over her soul... the Spanish speaking part is their manager, Rudy, playing the part of a preacher at the funeral... translated to English, this is what he says... Brother! Salvation is something that is earned! Let go of your hand of resentment and Wake up to a new light within you Although your brothers try Plunge into the darkness DPA/TW's _"Queen of the Murder Scene"_ is one of those concept albums best experienced by listening to it from beginning to end in order... listening to each of the songs piecemeal and out of order is like trying to figure out a movie by catching a portion near the end, one from near the beginning, and one near the middle... yeah, it won't work out very well... their performance of it at Lunario was the first time the album was presented in full to the public... it had been released over time in chapters of three songs each and the last three songs were presented here to complete the album... i like Lunario because it was the first public performance, the animations on the big screen behind Pau, and the girls were in character... others prefer their presentation of QOTMS at another venue for various reasons... as a concept album, many of us members of TWA can easily see QOTMS as a movie or Broadway stage performance... it is that good and to think it was written by them at a very young age and released as their 2nd album! i mean... whoa! who does that?? 😹 TWA ⚡🤘😸🤘⚡ TWA

Her name is Spanish, so Pau = Pow! Great name for A drummer!

Paulina is pronounced more like Pow-leena in Spanish, hence Pow being the shortened version of her name. It's just a coincidence that this hard hitting drummer is called Pow.

POW! In the Spanish it's "pow-lina" so Pau is a very evocative nickname. "I hit very hard," she said, modestly, in a gear discussion video a couple months back ;)

The studio version was recorded in 2018 so the ladies' voices sound noticeably younger. It also sounds tinny to me. The band did not succeed having their recordings sound like their live versions until their Error album with David Bendeth as the producer. You said EVEN professional bands flub up when performing live. Correction--The Warning is a professional band, with 10 years of experience. 😃

Full disclosure, it was two takes, sort of. They played two back to back dates in this venue and recorded both nights. The audio is from one night but they used video from both nights to get the best shots. In some songs you can spot some continuity flubs that give it away. Like the number of guitar picks visible on the mic stands. And now that I've said it, you'll be looking for it, LOL.

Most Bands struggle to match their studio sound playing live. The ladies of The Warning have always said their struggle is to capture their live sound in the studio.

They are always best live they write their music for live performances according to DPA in an interview. This song is such a great showcase for their exceptional talents. Harmonies are a secret weapon they use masterfully. Great reaction any song from this show is awesome you could start with the opener Z and work your way through it's worth the time. 🔥⚡

Yeah live is their superpower. They are such incredible performers. However, they do make mistakes occasionally as we all do. There are some videos circulating with them making errors while performing. They are such pros though that they just laugh it off and keep rocking. Most of the mistakes you would never even notice.

They're better live. It's the energy! The Teatro Metropolitan Concert is well-produced and well-lit. It's a real showcase for the band today. One thing to remember is that their older concerts (Lunario is one you'll hear a lot going forward) were performed when they were really young and an independent band. The technology was not as good then and they were much younger Ale was 17 during this show and she was only 13 at Lunario. They have always been pros; they put on a great show, as people who have seen them live multiple times will tell you and they're good people. That's why they have an army.

I suggest watching the Teatro Metropolitan full concert instead of doing single songs. Just do a song at a time in order of the concert. Most of the suggestions are going to come from this concert anyway. Plus, you get a short bts prior to the concert and you get the between songs content you don't by doing individual songs.

I noticed you were wearing a Vikings hat and figured I’d better check out the reaction to my favorite band from another long suffering Vikings fan. I was where your at about 2 years ago. I came across TW from a Choke reaction and was instantly hooked. I don’t believe a day goes by where I’m not watching or listening to something TW related. I saw them live within 3 months of finding them and it was amazing. Don’t think they’re gonna have a huge US tour this year due to spending 4-5 months in Europe and only about a 6-8 week window open now and they usually end the year playing in Mexico. If they do come somewhere close to you I’d highly advise getting a ticket.

Paulina is Pau (Pow) Daniella is Dany and Alejandra is Ale (Al-ay) I find that all of their lyrics are very mature. Yes. They run backing tracks. You can see next to Pau a laptop that she runs all the tracks and video. One more thing.....welcome to the addiction.
