The bassist, Ale, composed this at age 13 and the drummer, Pau, wrote the lyrics at age 16. Pau has been singing and drumming since the second grade. She runs and sings on a treadmill to train.

Let's introduce you to the best singing drummer on this planet. Paulina aka Pau (Pow). She plays the piano and sings also. All 3 sisters play piano. All 3 sing. Their first language is Spanish. English is second. This band is very important to this day & age. No auto tune. No stupid tricks. No lip-singing. Great lyrics, just a badass rock band... This show is 22 songs. Every song is spectacular. Great reaction 🤟🎶☮️

Pau's voice is kind of inherently "smokey", while Dani has worked very hard to build refinement and range in her tones. Interestingly, the youngest - Ale - which used to be the _highest_ tone just due to the age difference, has now a tendency to be well able to fill in _deeper_ tones... as well as a pretty solid falsetto. She claims to never sing outside of the context of the band (showers, etc.) but she's also kind of a perfectionist and takes her singing parts very seriously. To me, the most amazing thing about this full-length concept album is that it was written and produced when they were in middle school and high school. Literal kids...

The drummer's name is Pau (POW!), and she's the primary songwriter of the band, beginning most of her songs on the family's out of tune living room piano, before turning them into full-blown rock songs with her sisters. This was the opening song of their concept album, released when she was 16, Dani was 18, and Ale was 13. They are very ambitious. They played the whole album live when it was released, you should give a listen to that version (live at Lunario). Ale (Al-Lay - short for Alejandra) used to sing a lot more, and louder, but has grown more reserved in the last couple of years. She used to really be audible, and very visibly into the singing as well.

Seriously this riff is hypnotic and will truly get stuck in your head. Paulina has a lovely voice, not as high as many current bands. They both have great rock voices. This song opens their concept album about obsession, madness and murder. We are at the funeral of the protagonist, asking us to come in and see how things can go wrong. And yes, Ale on bass sings a fair bit but she’s pretty hard to hear in my opinion. Thanks for coming back, they never disappoint.

None of us were quite sure how 16 year old Paulina was going to pull this song off live. This was the first song released officially from Queen of the Murder Scene (although they had been playing Dull Knives for months prior in their live sets), and it was quite the departure from the sound of their previous album. That opening bass line from Alejandra makes you sit up, and take notice. Then Pau starts in on the vocal, and your head damn near explodes! What a song!

Pau on drums has a smoky, raspy voice. Dany on guitar has more of a belting Ann Wilson voice. Ale on bass occasionally sings lead, and has a lower voice, but also does the falsetto parts. Ale is a beast of a musician, trained in piano like her sisters, and jazz fusion for bass.

What also amazes me is the age at which they created this amazing concept album "QOTMS" to which masterpieces like "Dust to Dust" and others from this gig belong. Pau has been singing while drumming for most of her life. She "practices" for it by singing while running on a treadmill! Ale's mic is chronically too low, but recently her role in the yet-to-be-officially-released music seems to be more important and her mic seems more audible. So, hopefully, in future shows Ale's voice will shine through. I think there has been an issue with her self-confidence in singing. She doesn't like singing lead, so she had perennially been a background vocalist. But she has sang lead on some songs in live concert whenever Dany or Pau have needed to rest their voices due to illness or strain. She has a wonderful voices that tends to fall somewhere between the range of her sisters. She often does low harmonies, bt she also seems to have a nice falsetto when it is called for.

*Dust to Dust* is the intro song on DPA/TW's "Queen of the Murder Scene" concept album (aka QOTMS)... it is inviting you in to hear the deep, dark, and foreboding story of a young woman apparently in love with someone that doesn't even know she exists... it follows her battles between good and evil over her soul... the Spanish speaking part is their manager, Rudy, playing the part of a preacher at the funeral... translated to English, this is what he says... Brother! Salvation is something that is earned! Let go of your hand of resentment and Wake up to a new light within you Although your brothers try Plunge into the darkness QOTMS is one of those albums best experienced by listening to it from beginning to end in order... listening to each of the songs piecemeal and out of order is like trying to figure out a movie by catching a portion near the end, one from near the beginning, and one near the middle... yeah, it won't work out very well... as a concept album, many of us members of TWA can easily see it as a movie or Broadway stage performance... it is that good and to think it was written by them at a very young age and released as their 2nd album! i mean... whoa! who does that?? 😹 TWA ⚡🤘😸🤘⚡ TWA

The reason Dany adds the raspy vocals to this song over Pau's singing is because they're playing two different characters. Dany as the evil Queen, Pau as the innocent girl before she's been corrupted by the Queen character. It's the opening track from their 'Queen of the Murder Scene' concept album. If you want another song that showcase's Pau's vocals check out the Teatro Met performance of '23'

I swear it's a running gag at this point, but yes, Ale, the bassist can be very difficult to hear most of the time. Even the few times she sung lead to let Dany rest, her mic is very low. Having said that, once you know her voice, you can hear it. This show was amazing however I will make one suggestion when it comes to listening to the song Choke, I would definitely listen to the music video for that one. It really captures the intricate dynamics of the singing that is hard to produce in a live mix.. even as good as it is for this show. And for Evolve, use the VMAs performance. It's next level hype.

Hey Dude! New sub here, after a second Warning reaction! A couple of things to consider: They are playing in Mexico City here, at an elevation of over 7200 feet... very thin air. Ale, the youngest and bass player, wrote this song at age 13, starting with that bass line. It has a very middle eastern chord progression and reminds me of a magic carpet ride or a desert caravan. This song is the first track and prologue to their second album, Queen of the Murder Scene. It is a concept album that tells a dark story, like a musical graphic novel. It is a masterpiece written by teenagers! As others have said, any song from this Teatro Metropolitan concert is amazing! A couple of my favorites are UGH, 23, Disciple, Evolve, Queen of the Murder Scene, and Survive! But, anything you pick from this amazing band of talented sisters is a winner! They don't have bad songs or filler tracks. I have never seen any band like them in my 57 years. Future Legends!

Pau can sing with a huskier raspy voice like you hear on D2D or Narcisista but you really need to hear her clean sweet vocals. I would recommend 23, Revenant or Breathe from the Error album. You could do The End (Stars Always Seem to Fade), along with D2D, from Queen of the Murder Scene album. You could do Black Holes or Show me the Light from the XXI Century Blood album. You could do Escape the Mind from the Escape the Mind EP. These are all examples of Pau’s beautiful clean ballad voice. Pau has a “darker” voice where Dany has a “brighter” voice. Dany has a bit of nasality in her low to mid range but it clears out when she gets to the top and I personally believe she has one of the best vocal belts in the rock genre. I absolutely adore Dany’s high range when she cuts loose.

Don't feel bad. It is hard to describe Dani's voice. She has a bit more of a snarky quality when she wants to that I really enjoy. She also has a lot more power than Pau does on vocals. And yeah, sometimes it is really hard to pick out Ale's voice. She blends so well with her sisters that she doesn't stand out as much. But she adds so much texture to the lead when she is backing. As for the songs getting stuck in your head. We Warning fans have a saying. 'Your favorite Warning song, is the last one you listened to'. They are masters at writing and performing hooks. One of the reasons their songs are so good live is because they are easy to sing along to, even if you've never heard them before. That also gets them stuck in your head.

Something else to keep in mind when comparing vocals between Pau & Dany on this track: Queen of the Murder Scene (the band's 2nd album; Dust to Dust is the opening track) tells the story of a woman's obsession & descent into madness, murder, and eventual suicide. Over the course of the album, Pau sings the "light" parts of the protagonist's story while Dany takes the "dark" parts. (Full live performance of the album here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ipask3puo9CCn7c - keep in mind they're 4 years younger in this one.)

Dust to Dust : En el album de QOTMS ,Dust to Dust es el primer tema interpretado por Pau ,cantando y tocando la bateria al mismo tiempo ,un buen riff y excelente linea de bajo

Dany has a broader range, more power and a distinctive growl. Pau has more emotion and a rasp. Ale fits perfectly where needed (low or high) in backing vocals. It all works. Next up - Disciple or Queen of the Murder Scene from this concert. Thank you!!

Ale has had extensive jazz fusion training, on top of classical piano and some saxophone.

Great reaction amigo. One of the Warning harmonies that I like more is in Sinister Smiles acoustic version.

So you love Paulina's voice, look up her cover of Creep by Radiohead, just her and her piano. It is truly eerie what she does with her voice and that song. Enjoy, and you will.

If you really want to compare Dany and Pau’s voices, do DISCIPLE next -also from Teatro Metropolitan-the sisters exchange verses and both voices are showcased. Also, consider reacting to Pau’s solo cover of CREEP on her piano (and watch it to the very end!!)

Just watched your Bandmaid video. The Warning and Bandmaid I think are the two best live rock bands right now and for the past few years. Drummers, guitarists, bassists and vocal as well as writing all their own songs

Keep going with the Teatro Metropólitan show. All of the songs are this good. Pick something that looks interesting from this concert. It'll be just as good.

You can tell Ali is singing because she's at the mike, otherwise she likes to wander, allot. Good thing they all went wireless a while ago.

If you love Pau's voice (like I do), you need to hear "23," Narcisista," "Breathe," and her piano cover of "Creep."
