Dustborn might also be the LOWEST selling retail video game in the history of both the Playstation 5 AND Xbox Series X. On Amazn Prime, the physical copy of the game has NOT sold above 50 copies and the game released yesterday (they show how many copies physical games sell per month and when a game doesn't sell above 50 copies, they don't show the number). This is freaking UNHEARD of for a newly released physical video game on major consoles to NOT sell above 50 copies on A.P. during it's release day (and both the PS5 and XSX versions still haven't sold above 50). In comparison, the physical copy of Flintlock, a game that bombed, sold 200 + physical copies on PS5 alone on A.P when it released. That's how freaking horrible Dustborn has done. Now, I don't know how well (or rather, how terribly) the game has sold on other sites and retail stores and I don't know the digital sales on PS5 and Xbox Series X, but I'm willing to bet it's doing as well as the physical copy of the game on A.P (meaning, it hasn't sold above 50. Wouldn't surprise me if the total sales numbers on PS5 and Xbox Series X in both physical and digital combined are in the SINGLE digits). Anyway, I'm expecting the the physical copy to get a 50% price reduction from $40 down to $20 by the end of next month or sometime October at the latest. I'm then expecting the game to have clearance prices of between $5 to $10 by January as A.P is attempting to clear out this game out of their warehouses. Even most collectors won't bother with this game (too much supply, literally NO demand means even sealed copies of this game are going to going for $10 at most in the future).

No Mans Sky broke a lot of promises and was underwhelming in a lot of ways, but at least had some game to it that people could enjoy even at its worst. The premise of “words as weapons” could genuinely be a cool concept. Say “SWORD”, and the letters come out to form a sword you can attack with. Say “STOP” and the letters hold people in place. Tiny budget, no milestone scrutiny during development, embezzling? I don't want to dig into it, but this is not how a polished work looks.
