Duster 3 1.2 TCe vs Duster 2 1.5 Blue dCi RPM & HDC Testing

Here is s short testing done with my new Dacia Duster 1.2 TCe 4x4 vs a Dacia Duster 1.5 Blue dCi. Interesting thing about the HDC, on the newer generation Duster works differently than the Duster 2. How, you'll find out in this video.

don't we have the gear ratio and final ratio of the new Duster? the older was 21:1 in first gear, new one should be a bit shorter considering the little engine and the petrol unit. Anyway, looking at this video 1st gear looks short enough, maybe not optimal. In the petrol car you can reach 3000rpms (even 4000) with no matter, you can force more at medium/high rpms (for example in deep snow), while for the older one 3000rpms are basically the stall limit cause diesel is weak at high rpms. You gotta use this new car pushing a little bit more (not too much), as I said in other video

That´s what a lot of people (excluding me😁) have waited for. The results are as I prognosted (but you never believed me): this modern petrol engines are extremly boosted so the torque curve is almost the same. Saying this you have to test it in hard /very steep terrain, too. This was a girly test. 😉 And we have to keep in mind that your and mine (tce150) petrol engines will never last as long as the 1,5dci. Hill descend: I´m not sure if I understand how they work different... Can´t believe that descent control will be automatically active? ONE point you haven´t answer so far is my question if the new seats are better than the older ones - or if they are still the same (I expect). Summery: the base technology of the Duster didn´t change at all. They just wrapped it by a nicer look, took away one cylinder and 20PS and ask for aprox. 2.500€ more. Which you can take as a bad thing (no real progress but higher price) or as a good one (at least nothing got worse😁).

Be careful you shouldn't go higher than 3000 RPM during the first 1000 km, for the running-in period 🙂

Very true. My TCe150 engine (the co-development with Mercedes) took 4.000km for full break in...😮 Even in lower rpm there was a clear lack of power / torque compared to full break in. Very strange today. But this is a complete new construction, could be different.

i like the new duster from outside optic .. but the new dusters interieur is like cheap shit .... extreme duster II inside was just perfect.

@@Eisengras compare the cheap haptics with the extreme trim Duster II ... it looks way more organised than on new one. even climatics are better to use on the old trim.

@@Eisengras if you had both you would agree, that the interior haptics of the new duster appear less valuble than last trim. if you not agree you are fanboy nothing else ... id wish that they improve the middle haptics to a not so --- jumpy platic strip im going to buy bigster when they improved an faceliftet the Duster III .. because this versio nist really sad to watch ...many good things but at the same time many many bad developments.
