I've been studying with the SDAs for the past few yrs, and was receptive to what they teach. Though I've not read much of EW and was a bit wary of her, and the 1844 prophecy seemed a bit strange to me. So in recent months I was listening to a few challenges to adventism, but nothing really stuck, and I got no clarity. So I was praying sincerely many times, and I mean in a deep and sorrowful way, a sorrowful longing for the truth. Then whilst preparing a study for Sabbath school I came across the cleansing of the sanctuary. Then God led me into this, and opened my eyes to clearly, was amazing. My conclusion, and I spent many hrs and days going over Daniel's prophecies, is that there is Zero substance to the 1844 prophecy. No connections between the little horns, nor the vision in ch 9 explains ch 8 vision. I read the acct of antiochus and he fits perfectly. He was trying to wipe out the faith in Israel. I did several word studies, which every one of them even further removes any supposed connections. The word used for saints in ch7 is different to the holy people in ch8. The word for vision in ch9 vs 23 is different to the ch8 vision. Ch 8 days is broken down into liberal mornings and evenings, whereas the prophetic days in ch12 vs 11 are a word that can be figurative for a period of time. Cleansing in ch 8 means to make right, and is different to the cleansing of the sanctuary ceremonially. And clearly the little horn in ch8 comes out of Greece, and cannot be Rome. As in ch7 rome is it's own beast, and the little horn there comes from within it. Also how does Gods heavenly sanctuary get trodden underfoot?? Was rome doing away with the daily sacrifices for those hundreds of yrs before Jesus came? The SDA interpretation is entirely false. It is assumption built upon false assumption, that builds an entirely false structure.

The Antiochus theory is based on the false assumption that the little horn is a literal king instead of kingdom. In Daniel 8, the heavenly explanation goes as follow: Ram...having two horns...kings of Media and Persia. (Noticed that horns represent the kingdom of Media and the kingdom of Persia). Historically the kingdoms of Media and Persia conquered Babylon. Goat...king of Grecia...the great horn....first king (Noticed how the heavenly explanation of the great horn in between the eyes of the goat represents the literal first king of Grecia.) Historically Alexander the great conquered the kingdom of Media and Persia. Let us carefully analyze what follows: Now that being broken, whereas stood up for it, four kingdoms shall stand up out of the nation, but not in his power. (Dan 8:22) And when he shall stand up, his kingdom shall be broken, and shall be divided toward the four winds of heaven; and not to his posterity, nor according to his dominion which he ruled: for his dominion shall be plucked up, even for others beside those. (Dan 11:4) According to the vision, its explanation and parallel passage: Four notable ones represent four kingdoms which replaced Alexander's dominion into four regions (four winds of heaven). Historically Alexander the great descendants did not continue to rule the territories conquered by him; but instead, it was divided into four parts by his generals, Cassander, Lysimachus, Ptolemy, and Seleucus, respectively. Let us reiterate the explanations of the horns: The Goat has two horns that represent a kingdom The Ram commences with a great horn that represents the kingdom of Greece with its first king The four horns came up after the death of the first horn represent four kingdoms. As you can see, the heavenly explanation will define the meaning of the horns. In general, the horns represent kingdoms unless the heaven explanation says otherwise like the case with the notable horn in the goat. We can confidently assume, based on the pattern of the heavenly explanation, that when the prophecy refers to horn it represents a kingdom. Now we confront the million dollar question: How does the heavenly guide explains the little horn? And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up. (Dan 8:23) What term does the heavenly guide used to refer to transition? The heavenly guide uses the term "stand up." This means that "a king of fierce countenance" which represents the "little horn" stands up a the latter part of their kingdom means a transition is about to occur. This means that the little horn is different from the 4 kingdoms that stoop up to replace the first king of Grecia. This means that Antiochus cannot represent the little horn of Daniel 8, because he was already part of the 4 kingdoms. However, the kingdom of Rome did stand up and replaced the kingdom of Greece. It is extremely important to see how the term "stand up" tells us that something new appears in the prophetic theme. As you can see, the prophetic understanding of the SDA church is not based on blind or false assumptions, but on letting the Bible speak for itself without forcing the text.

@@apostolicdoctrine101 well you failed to include that the little horn came out of one of the 4 greek kingdoms. Claiming this was rome conquering is not accurate. Besides the fact that the little horn in ch 7 is not Rome, but rather arose from within rome, just as ch 8 it arises from within a greek kingdom. You mentioned standing up, well the four horns after Alexander also stood up. Those four notable horns could just as easily represent the 4 generals. A horn does not always mean a kingdom, nor does a king. I see you're really trying hard to make this fit, but it does not. Fact is, we have an historical acct of a king coming out of the seluecid kingdom, to the south and to the east, and into Israel. He did away with the daily sacrifices for the 2300 evening's and morning's, and defiled the sanctuary with an abomination which made it desolate. He outlawed the Torah, and trampled the holy people. The word used is specific for the OT ceremonially set apart people. Not the same as the word used for saints in ch 7. The sanctuary was literally restored after antiochus was removed. The hanukkah celebration. This is the most major defilement to occur in their history, and attempt to wipe out their faith. Why do Adventists not recognize this clear fulfillment, but rather try to string together a very flimsy theology, which at every point, not just a few, can be refuted.

Since I don't believe that the little horn did not come out of the 4 Greek kingdoms, I did not "failed to include that the little horn came out of one of the 4 greek kingdoms." I believe that the theology position of the SDA church is very solid. However, your position of the Antiochus theory is very much flimsy theology. Just listen to yourself, "Besides the fact that the little horn in ch 7 is not Rome, but rather arose from within rome, just as ch 8 it arises from within a greek kingdom" what on earth are you talking about? Here you are criticizing the SDA as flimsy theology and you are making a comparison that does not make sense; yet, your interpretation seems to be very clear to you. Throughout my conversation with you have reaffirm my position that the little horn of Daniel 8 is Rome and not Antiochus. By the way, it only the tamid that appears in the original text and sacrifices.

If you truly studied the subject for "50 years", then you would have debunked everyone of my points. Where in the world are you getting the notion that the "SDA Jesus...does not forgive"? If I were to get some type of funding for every nonsense people state regarding SDAs, I would be a billionaire by now. I don't think you have a clear understanding of the investigative judgment or able to rebuttal one of the most extraordinary teaching in the Bible about Jesus. Just because "no Christian in the world" believes in this doctrine does not make it false.

I went to the Bible and have found that God is perfect. So His sanctuary in heaven cannot, possibly, be dirty. So the idea that the "Cleasing of the sancuary" is to happen in heaven cannot happen by the simply fact that a perfect God would never let His sanctuary be dirty that needed to be cleansed. He would not be God if that happened. Dirty and pollution only occurs on the earth because the earth is a decaying place.

Hello Dustin, I listened to your sermon about the great disapointment and how the leaders decided that the "Cleansing of the Sanctuary" was not supposed to happen on earth but in heaven. That got me thinking: Why God the Father needs to cleanse His own sanctuary? I am sure that you will have an interpretation about that interpretation. But, think about it, cleansing of the sactuary in heaven implies that the sanctuary in heaven is dirty. In other words the house of God in heaven is dirty. If you believe that God is perfect than, that assumption can't be correct because He would never let His sanctuary be polluted as this doctrine/theory suggests.

@@dealsmartk8451 I Believe you are talking about Lucifer's rebelion along with 1 third of the spirit children of God that followed him and were all expelled from heaven. Correct? I think you are trying to link that to the sanctuary of God. Perhaps you are thinking that God needs to expell some more of His children from heaven. Not sure where you place that link. The other two thirds of the spirit children of God have been or are still being born on this earth. Those two thirds are the ones that followed Jesus Christ. The ones that followed satan have been all expelled. Therefore, if you want to refer to that expelling of the one third that follow satan as a sort of a "cleasing" then the "cleansing" already happened eons ago. The fact remains that it is extremely difficult to imagine that would be any kind of pollution in heaven and that God being perfect would neglect His sanctuary. Furthermore the source of all lies and rebellion has already been expelled from heaven. That source is roaming the earth and working hard to lead the other children of God astray. So, it stands to reason that if there is any kind of cleasing needed, it needs to be here on earth. And, I think that will happen by the time Christ starts His reign along with the saints on the earth.

Just one question; why did the Holy God of Heaven, who created all things, who established His throne in heaven (Psalm 103:19) need to cleanse His Holy temple in heaven? ( you said in your message that God went to cleanse the temple in heaven, that it was a mistake to think the Jews would (sic) rebuild and cleanse a temple before His second coming; i.e., an earthly temple). Second question; why would the Holy Son of God, whom the Father sent to fulfill prophecy and preach fully the word of God, who was without sin, leave HIS disciples with a false or erroneous understanding?
