What an outstanding lens this is! The metal material gives it a premium look and feel, while its light weight makes it highly portable. The workmanship is of the highest standard, with every part fitting together seamlessly. The bokeh effect is stunning, adding a touch of elegance to the pictures. The lens' sharpness is remarkable, especially in the center. The anti-glare and dispersion control are excellent, making it a great investment for any full-frame user.

Great Review, I purchased the lens after watching this & happy to report that the lens exceeds my expectations. The lens is a fantastic option for someone like myself, who only has occasional use of a portrait lens & could not really justify the cost of a premium brand. I even posted some positive feedback on the Sony E mount DPR forum, but was promptly accused of advertising & had my post, with images (taken that morning) deleted 🤔. @@MegaWeitzel I agree. I loved the lens when I tried it at the WPPI show. It was the best of the I-series lenses. It is at $699. For $750 I can get a used Sigma 85mm f1.4 for Sony. I'm aware that you've reviewed the Sirui 75mm 1.2... Im using Sony Apsc, the pricing of the Sirui 75 1.2 and this Tt artisan is somehow similar... Sirui being a little higher. If IQ is my priority and build quality being 2nd, which is the better pick between these two? Hope to hear from you Dustin 🙏🏻
@DustinAbbottTWI24 күн бұрын
That's a bit of a hard comparison for me to make for a couple of reasons. I tested one on full frame (TTArtisan - Sony 61MP), while I tested the other on Fuji 40MP. The latter is much more demanding for sharpness (it's the most difficult platform I test on), and also Fuji autofocus isn't nearly as good as Sony's. I would actually lean towards the Sirui for your application. Having that F1.2 option is really great.

@PetrKlapper3 ай бұрын
@@DustinAbbottTWI I meant in a performance/IQ comparison results way of course, not just basic stats, as mentioned by many other comments - I could have been clearer about that. Don't see how the price difference changes anything in this regard, it's quite common here and everywhere else to compare anything to everything, even with larger gaps, like with Samyangs to GMs for example. And not just to 75mm lenses, 85/1.8 being the obvious ball park competitor. And one technical thing - while Chinese cheap full metal construction might feel premium on the outside in general, it's not better for an IQ longevity when the lens is completely inflexible - it's not just about weight that most modern and even the best lenses are made from a combination of high quality durable plastics and other metal compounds. Doesn't have to be 'plastic fantastic' of course, but even that will survive more bumps and hits than a full metal lens.
@acouragefann3 ай бұрын
Just because something is convention, doesn't mean it's not stupid. I recently saw a swathe of people on a forum iterating and reiterating how the canon rf 50mm 1.2 was clearly superior to a chinese 50mm 1.1 lens with 1/4 its element count, less than 1/3 its weight and 1/10th its price. Yes, if you pay twice/thrice/quadruple the price, you will usually get better IQ - whether your clients can notice and thus whether it impacts real world results is up to the individual professional and his print/publishing medium. But flat out expecting a reviewer to invest the time to rigorously test every comparison lens you feel relevant disregarding price is, to me, weird - especially when you can pull up the samyang review and draw your own conclusions.
