I myself am going on 6 years with godox. I started my business with two ad200̀'s and 2 tt600's. Since using them and learning how to do off camera flash I found their limits and now I picked up 2 ad600's and upgraded to 2 V1's. But I do a lot of action shots with Racers and athletes and I purchased the ad1200 pro and ad300 pro and both are phenomenal strobes also. Now I do athletes with a 6 strobes configuration with fog machines and color gels with all these strobes and get truly professional portraits. They have not failed me yet and I am still using some of the original batteries from 6 years ago. I have owned almost every trigger they have made and I couldn't be more happier with all their products

Wow - that's pretty impressive feedback. What a great endorsement for the reliability of Godox's products.

@ yep I am a huge fan of their products. But their new stuff is starting to get out of hand with their prices. $900 for the new ad600 pro ii “yikes that’s high”. Every year I wait til Black Friday for the to go on sale. When the ad300 pro costs the same as the original ad600 both $500. The smart choice is to go with the ad600. But thanks for always sharing very highly detailed video reviews of all the products you test. I have based many of my purchases off of your videos. You tell us how it is the good and the bad. In this day and age that goes a long way for me. Happy holidays.

Nice,review. Dustin i have over 20 Godoxs lights, the only time i had one to fell is when the light fell into the creek, lol but it did shoot a few moire times after it was baptized.

LOL - those flashes prefer to remain heathens, I'm afraid ;)

Thanks, Dustin. Comprehensive, as usual. I'm currently invested in an AD200 Pro, and got the AD-B2 for access to a modeling lamp and future expansion to 400W. I would've considered this Pro ii, but the incompatible heads makes it a bit complicated for me now. I could easily just get an older AD200 (I'm sure they're hitting the used market more commonly now), and a second AD-B2 to have a pair of strobes with modeling lamps, and not have to worry about modifiers being incompatible. Then again, if I got the Pro ii, I suppose I could have two separate strobes with modeling lamps, and then still be able to merge them onto an AD-B2. I like the upgrades, but it's going to take a bit more thought before I expand to a second unit. For now I'm going to keep riding my AD200 as a key light, with lithium speed lights handling the fill and effects.

Legitimate concerns. I think losing that compatibility might have been Godox's biggest misstep here.
@LMNDZ513Ай бұрын
Dustin...Appreciate the look into this flash definitely one to consider as a secondary flash..is it the same case with this flash that 1/512 is only available with the use of the X3 trigger like the same situation with the AD600Pro II?..
@DustinAbbottTWIАй бұрын
I believe that is correct regarding 1/512th.

Excellent review, as usual, however I don't need a flash, present equipment is sufficient for my limited flash needs.

I’m confused. I’ve had no issue with the Bowen’s mount or soft boxes
@DustinAbbottTWIАй бұрын
I'm assuming you're using the S2 adapter, though.

@ that’s what it is… gotcha thanks

Can I use two of the new ad200 pros mark 2 with the ADS2 dual bracket?
@DustinAbbottTWI29 күн бұрын
I think the answer is yes, but you probably should confirm with Godox as I haven't specifically tested that.

Ah man, only recently bought the V1...
@DustinAbbottTWIАй бұрын
The V1 is a nice flash. I've got a couple of those that I've used regularly for years.

I just bought this with the X3 trigger
@DustinAbbottTWIАй бұрын
That's a nice pairing.

Thank you for this review. I use strobe 80% of the time for my portraits and I don't see much useful improvements. I recently bought Godox AD300 and Godox ML-GD for me to use bowens mount modifier without using S bracket.
@DustinAbbottTWIАй бұрын
If you are already comfortable with what you have, the biggest reasons to upgrade probably seem more superficial.

Is it possible to work with the Xpro trigger?
@DustinAbbottTWI22 күн бұрын
Yes, it does work off the Xpro. I've used the XProS with it.

Personally waiting for smaller AD100 replacement or upgraded(UI and display) for their on camera flashes. In case of V1 Pro Godox already has put a USB C port for charging in the battery itself so quite confused by omission here.
@DustinAbbottTWIАй бұрын
Hmmm, that's interesting on the USB point. I'm surprised they didn't do that here, then.

I've heard that a few times, now, so I probably will. KZbin has been really touting this new feature, but it obviously isn't very good.

FRAY-nl? Is that a Canadian thing?? Like how the Brits butcher the word aluminum? Your poor cousins down south say furNELL
@DustinAbbottTWIАй бұрын
It's a French word and that is actually the proper pronunciation. www.naturescapes.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=252412&srsltid=AfmBOopl9IfLI4BXm5qmPeBIpHtmP2-m2Wlhn-SWxIp_8E7jM1AtNgx6

Only Americans use aluminum, Aluminium is used by the rest of the world including The International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC)
