That was my first look at the Parrot software. Really interesting to see the different manufacturers perspectives and how they each invested in their own ways. This Parrot software looks nice and detailed, very intricate, just advanced! Amazing autonomous flight options! Nice FPV goggles, loads of room of upgrades when it comes to charge docks and 4k / 3 axis camera, bulky controller antennas! I hope they kick out some serious range. I look forward to the flight tests and can't wait to see your new autonomous flight on your new Disco! I hope they give you a good discount on all this stuff! Great part 1👍

👌👌👌I still love my 1.5 year old Bebop 2, Parrot is doing a great job with the updates, so it doesn't feel like you have an old drone... my only cons are: no balanced charger, so your batteries will go out of balance and will not be charged proper ( I did a video how to save them with a balanced charger ) and of course the video quality could be better, but for myself it is decent. In 1,5 years the drone never let me down, no issues at all! It is so much fun to fly it! Thx for the review, mate! 👌

The range is manageable I managed to pus it up to 1800ft max I didn’t really try to go further than that cause didn’t want to lose the camera signal and plus to get a really good range you need to fly at least 300ft or higher if you are in an area with lots of trees

Keep in mind Dustin , you need an aftermarket balanced charger for your bebop batteries to get piper charge. And my original bebop 2 did come with the rubber boots over that motors

Johan Smit it’s the same exact charger. And I agree with Dustin that a 500 drone should come with a proper charger. The stock charger will work fine for a period of time , but if you have a voltage reader you can see that each cell is being equally charged and that’s what cause the life of your battery to diminish.

I don't think we can say old vs new. I did quite a bit of reading and there's virtually no changes from this and the power edition, other than that the batteries are apparently a bit higher voltage and higher capacity. Same listed processor and GPU, same frame, same props, same motors, same limited non-expandable 8GB memory storage, and on the regular Bebop 2, you can use the new Freeflight Pro. The Bebop 2 does need an upgrade, but Parrot just ad big layoffs and I think is afraid of a downturn in the drone market because of recent anti-drone laws passed, so they probably just don't have the capital to compete. That said, I bought a standard edition Bebop 2 brand new for $218 shipped (after cashback), so I had to bite but I can't believe Parrot is making any money at that price.

Great review as always, by the way bebop 2 also has launch from hand and video and sport mode can be Activate from main screen (bottom left corner) just tap to change. Awesome flyer but not enough for me to upgrade. Since my Spark bebop is now my second favorite.

I'm curious why your back pack looks different then the one I got with my Bebop 2 Power FPV Adventure extreme. Mine is a plain black pack with a sturdy but gushy foam to keep everything snug from sloshing around with the props attached, 2 battery slots and a slot for . I'd be more confidant with my back pack in checked luggage than yours. You can see the current back pack on Parrot's website. I wanted to know your opinion of the tablet/phone mount in terms of it's pivot direction being in the opposite direction of the user. I think that is weird, but I don't think Parrot intended it to pivot while in use. I think they wanted it pivot to fold up for packing. That little red blinking icon that appears on your iPad indicating where you need to point the SC2 seems to be an iOS only feature as I don't see that on my Androids.

I have a few 4000 mah batteries I got off eBay , a lot cheaper than the stock batteries and they work great. I still get about 25 mins of flight time , similar to the smaller stock batteries , but for the price you can’t beat them.

Hey Dustin. Have been watching your channel for a year, thank you. I got into micro racers with brushed motors due to the fact that brushless 200 size ones break a lot and I can’t rely on them at all. Could you recommend something with brushless motors, is durable and reliable? My current setup is sky zones sky02s+ and Taranis qx7. I love my tiny whoop it survives any crash but would love to get a fast reliable freestyle drone which won’t make me fix it all the time.

I know I am late to the party and I'm sure you have found out by now,that even though the power and standard edition look physically the same the internals are completely different. Better mother board..PE motors are completely different,standard motors wont work,the camera has more memory,even the cooling fan's for the MB won't work ( I have the PE and two standards) the only thing that is really interchangeable is the cross-frame and the props and landing gear

Dustin Dunnill Everything was fine, fresh battery and it was only in the air for 5 mins. Supposibly what I've been seeing on KZbin is that you have to do a hard reset to th3 device once the updates are installed but Parrot never said anything about that and also something about the cache in the App. Battling with parrot so I can get a replacement but their not an easy company to deal with. I have their Disco and that has been fun but just disappointed with the bebop power because of the fact it just fell out the sky with no warning at bout 50 ft and 40 ft away from me.

Yes will work. You don't need data. It's just using WiFi connection. Preload your maps at home on your internet to display them when you fly.

WiFi is a type of radio signal. You do not need internet for it to work. Don't mix the terms together. Many devices can use a WiFi signal and at the same time never connect to the internet. What happens is your remote control and drone have WiFi and communicate with each other. No internet involved.

Lots of reasons. First, you are future proofing your work. Second, filming in 4k gives the creator extra versatility in post production. An example would to pan/crop/zoom the 4k then render in 2.7k, 2.5k (1440p) or 1080p. Three; more of us have 4k monitors with bandwidth to support it than you think. Four; Theoretically potential viewers may choose to watch a 4k over 1080p of similar content giving the creator an edge. More?

Most people? Can you show me the statistics? How about the statistics of people buying a 4K TV versus a 1080p TV? And, of that percentage, how many are owning drones? This is being typed on a 4K-screen laptop, I have several high-end 4K TVs, I have a PS4 Pro, a 4K Xbox One S, 4K GoPro Hero 5, etc. I guess I should be forced to settle for a non-4K, because "most ppl [sic] don't even have a 4k tv," huh? This isn't 2013, where 4K is rare. In fact, it's harder to get a 1080p TV than a 4K, simply because almost no one produces them. To say what you said is foolish and outdated.

As Orlando Streets stated, 4K offers a huge difference for authoring and post processing. Besides, if you only have a 1080p screen than your screen will down grade the res to 1080p anyway. That being said, the Bebop camera is actually 4K. That's how the stabilization works. It takes a 4K image and crops it dynamically. The still pictures in DNG RAW are essentially full 4K frame.
