Parrot Bebop 2 Flight Plan tutorial with 2.3 mile flight

This a Free Flight Pro tutorial for the Bebop 2 using the Flight Plan add-on. Once launched, it successfully flew autonomously 2.3 miles at a rate of 16 ft per second in 14 minutes 52 seconds holding a consistent altitude of 200 feet. It was rock solid with zero hiccups!

Mark, You won't regret it i promise you. The stabilization and control is truly amazing. well worth the money sir! BTW, I'm 57 also and been battling cancer for over a year including 10 surgeries and this hobby is great therapy as I'm limited to certain activities, just make sure and watch good instructional video's like this one to familiarize yourself with all the capabilities and tips/tricks beforehand so that when you make your 1st initial flight, You will have more confidence on what your doing in case you run into trouble. :-)

great video man! ive had my bebop 2 for a while now while i expand my collection...2 days ago on the FB market place there was a bebop 1 for sale and i gave $50 for it,,like new but the batteries were not taken care of...sad then in the same town there was another guy selling one and i was able to get that one for $100 but it came with that beautiful skycontroller and 6 batteries so im ready for a good long distance and or waypoint flight like yours, if it gets lost i have a backup Happy flying!!

Hello all, I have the Bebop 2 Power, I have done a few of the Flight plan missions and they all worked great!, but I was hoping that anybody could explain in detail when you go to the next screen to do separate things between the way points, the last Lime green Icon for "TILT" Explain the "Angular speed" the default value is at 30 what happens when you increase or decrease that value , examples used in flight etc. Thanks

I think you just helped me make up my mind about getting a Bebop2! #1 is because of the fact that it's very affordable. #2 I don't think I can forgive myself getting a $1000 drone and then crash it later down the line. It doesnt need a controller signal. Flight plan programmes the drone so doesn’t need you at all. If it feels the battery won’t make it, it exits the flight plan and comes back to the starting point. It is truly amazing software.

I have watched a few of these videos, and have yet to see where the aerial photos are coming from ... Google Maps? Also, I have access to more accurate aerials, Latitude and Longitudes, and elevations through Lidar(with very accurate ground and top of trees and buildings, etc), Can any of this more accurate information be entered for flight path?

Flight Plan is Amazing , However I had a Glitch happen in it one time about a year ago witch resulted in losing my bebop 1. Now I am a little apprehensive about trying it with my bebop 2.

CAUTION!! This video is a great representation of how the Bebop 2 should perform as Parrot advertises. It does not show how like in my situation how the return to home feature can malfunction and not return home like it is supposed to. I did the same process as in this video only to launch the drone and watch it gain altitude and set off on its course disappearing into the distance and never returning home like they advertise. $ 400 dollars down the drain and all Parrots customer service could say is sorry for the inconvenience. Worst drone experience so far. Use your money wisely and buy a Dji product.

This was very helpful as im watching videos before planning my own. I was wondering a couple things if you dont mind: The speed that it travels, I watched another video that showed if you tap the line between two points you can alter the speed. Did you modify it? Also, If you wanted to, could you just have driven to the park (in theory) and wait for it to arrive? I dont have a sky controller and was wondering because i have read that once it takes off you dont need to be in wifi range. During flight, were you changing the angle of the camera? if so how are you able to do that? thanks for the great vid! Haters suck btw

Has anyone had any trouble using the much vaunted Samsung8 with their Bebop? I was using iphone 6 and 7..(trashed the 7)what garbage. But the 6 recently got a firmware upgrade, and the Android Freeflight doesnt have it.

K Johnson I've Bebop 1,,, it's awesome... I wish I had more battery life like Bebop 2... To answer your questions, I haven't had any, any issue I'll date with the OS or connectivity... Returns back home when wifi signals lost... Tried in app purchases and trust me the flight plan software is just too good to be explained... I'm loving it but Imma someday move to bebop 2...

yes you can adjust the speed ..he just didnt know how ..the height is on the right side to adjust which is what he did but the speed is at the bottom side ways he had it goin 10 miles ahr but it goes 20 miles hr during flight plan if he would have slid the bottom all the way to the right.

Dude! that was an awesome video as well as a great hands on tutorial. probably the best i've seen yet. I just purchased Flightplan, I plan on using it this weekend. I have a couple of questions. 1. when you set your first waypoint is was in feet correct/ But when you went to the second screen it was in meters. Is this standard or is it a setting? 2, i noticed that you panned the camera up & down while flying, is there a setting for this on the second screen or is this the way is has to be done? 3. While on the second screen you hit the photo icon, can it take a photo while recording or does it stops recording and then resumes? and lastly 4. I heard you mention AIRPLANE MODE & CELLULAR DATA, Do you not put it in airplane mode but do turn cellular data off? Thanks in advance. Once again great video.

If you put your device in airplane mode prior to engaging your wifi you will find that you can use your wifi for connection to the drone and keep a stable signal.

You can set a point of interest that has a second altitude slider. So in this case the Bebop is flying at 200 feet. You could set a point of interest at 50 feet somewhere between waypoints and the camera will point down automatically to the 50 foot spot. If you set a point of interest on a circular path flight plan the flight plan will point the drone and camera at that point for the whole flight. Great way to get a 360 view of a subject. Hi, I noticed that you get the grey square grid around your current location where you took off from. I can't get that dang thing to go away. I've tried zooming in and out with no success. Has anyone else had this problem. I panned away from my house and going to start the flight in a field since i can actually see that on the map at my house. I hope this works, it's my first flight plan. This grey square grid has got to go! I'm using an Ipad Mini 2. Thanks for any help.

The software does use google maps with some mods you can download flight data manager to your pc then send the drone out on a flight plan. After its flight use the data and send the gps track over to a garmin gps and Hike or drive the flight. We used Bebops during expeditions when reviewing the flights we would then load the track and go to an area of interest. none of the drones were lost in will over 700 hours of flights. our drones were used in rescues and disaster areas as well. good video guys we are interested in Bebop 2 having had a lot of success with the original Bebop. you helped us decide. #weareparrot #bebopyourworld #firefigtherdrone rescue international, moab , #jeeplife

I have both, they are almost exactly the same. Skycontroller 1 is better though because it broadcasts wifi, so you can wear the VR headset without having to run a usb cable to the controller....

Less exposure would improve your drone footage, just a small constructive critic. Also, can you move the camera on the drone at your will while its flying or do you have to set the camera angle on your flight plan?

Thank you for your reply, that is good news, i just bought one and i plan to mostly use the flight plan feature for recording. Since you can only tilt it vertically, i guess one must insert the way the camera is looking between waypoints, and then tilt it vertically to get better shots. Can you also define the camera settings during flight (exposure, take pictures, etc) or they must be pre set on flight plan?
