First of all compliments for riding so cool and marvellous scenary you share with us. Can you tell me what is your bike? And just curious i also ask you something regarding the ride when your last few minutes, i see iron pole , they are many as bordeline of the path where you are riding for, arent they iron made ? Otherwise dangerous trick

Sweet. Best of luck in the race. Quick question if you don't mind, you say this is 80%, if you did your race run at this pace rather than 90-100% do you think you would be many seconds slower on say a 5 minute course? I just ask because I keep going 90-100% and crashing or blowing up. I can't seem to get it into my head that going slower might end up with a better result. Red mist always descends 😂
@JesseMelamedMTB5 жыл бұрын
Yes I have tested this. Maybe if you are crashing a lot at 90% then it could be slower than consistent 80% but not crashing. I found I was definitely slower just going at a more cruising pace. I race at a pace I know I can sustain without the smallest chance of crashing.

Hi Jesse, nice video! I really try to get the jersey you wear. I have the instinct in the same colors like yours, but Rocky Mountain said i should try to ask raceface, they have not answered yet. Do you know where i could get one? Or do you have one spare ;-)

do you always ride the stages on practice at that high of a pace? you can hear you breathing and checked on strava your HR. isn't it fatiguing yourself days before the race?
@JesseMelamedMTB5 жыл бұрын
I like to know how I will feel in the race. I'd say I'm pushing 80% in practice and then 90-100% in the race. It is fatiguing but that's why we train!

Jesse one question, when the stages are longer do you exceed 80% max HR, or you try to keep it below this level?

Something that surely is incredibly fun on a "regular" bike, seems boring on his super-enduro.
@JesseMelamedMTB5 жыл бұрын
For me?
@esvegateban5 жыл бұрын
Hi Jesse! I mean, you're not exerting yourself by any means, but no, as a viewer: all these videos running down some terrific track that would be amazing in a "regular" bicycle, they just seem dull and edgeless on your super-enduros. It seems the tracks are almost too small for your bikes. You're hitting drops and speeds (considering the terrain) that would terrify on a regular bike, but on yours they're non-existent. Can't stretch your bikes properly on those "tiny" tracks, you just point them on the down general direction and step over everything, confident that the bike will stop and slightly turn. Not complaining about you or your skills, just the state current bikes and tracks are.

@@esvegateban I think that's mainly the 'GoPro effect', and additionaly the new Hypersmooth makes it look even less gnarly. Every rider knows what it feels in reality and what it looks like on GoPro. 🤗
@JesseMelamedMTB5 жыл бұрын
@@esvegateban I think Dan Hill is correct, the GoPro with the stabilization does make it look smooth but I can assure you it is not. You can take a look at some of my other videos where I use the chest mount and you will see more bike action.
