72 years old is a short life these days. A touring musician - it is a lot of stress. Initially, the novelty of it, when you're younger, makes it a lot of fun. Fifty years though. Wow. How many of us have a job where we do the same thing for 50 years. 72 years old - that is a short life. Prayers for his friends and family. . .

I waited to see ZZ Top since the early 80’s. I finally got tickets to see them front row and paid over $2,000 for the two front row seats. The show was on a Saturday. The Monday before the show, Covid happened and they canceled. A while later, I got very sick from Covid and was sent to the hospital. While in the hospital, Dusty Hill died. I will never get to see ZZ Top, but I will forever love their music, and Hills contribution was monumental. I play my signature bass daily. RIP, Dusty Hill.

Pawn shop guys used to be clueless about old guitars - they took quite a beating. Thise days are gone.
@TheMemo6593 жыл бұрын
Pawn shop guys are too savvy these days, yeah.... but there are still options. Now you have to find the uninformed/stupid/desperate on Craigslist, AND be early. The chances of that beat up 1966 precision being sold for $300 by the widow are slim as hell, but definitely deals to be had for those willing to sift. I landed an a 2019 american pro jazz for $750 earlier this year. Seller was "thinning his herd" so his wife would let him buy more. He wasn't feelin the jazz and didn't hesitate to dump an essentially brand new bass for less than half what he paid. $100 fixed the fret buzz im guessing he didnt like, and BAMN I had a new #1 at a crazy discount.
