Dusty Springfield - Interview part 1 Of 2

The general public is clueless as to how hard the music business can be. A singer who worked as much as Dusty did in the 1960's would have to get burned out on the business. Singing like she sang, night after night, day after day, had to get exhausted. Not to mention the level of fame and all the B.S. that comes along with that. She explained her decisions well. But she should have been able to 'waltz' back to England and have success after all she gave and what she still had left to give. Bet they all wish now they would have bought the tickets to see her shows. Thank God she recorded so many incredible songs and spent lots of time in the studio. Dusty was the greatest of singers and could sing anything.

Believe this was 1979, same year as her marvelous Royal Albert Hall performance. She would have been 40 years old here, top of her talent. Love her speaking voice, too.

Dusty looked so sexy in this interview. And in a strange way, looked a bit like Petula Clark with that "frizzy" look. She took me through my high school years and into the Army where I was a DJ (Armed Forces Radio) playing her stuff from '67 through '69. Fantastic voice! We miss you Dusty!

But missis isobel o'brien(dusty springfield 's real name)was much prettier than her colleagues petula clark and welch mary hopkins,and I prefer late dusty also as singer...i don't say because she passes away early

Think it is Bob Langley, use to be a presenter on Pebble Mill at One on BBC1 at around 1pm. Think this might be 'Saturday night a the Mill' an offshoot of the former. Bob is 74 now.

Yes, i do remember those days, pauline, but thank you anyway, and to gferdinandus. The reason i asked the question was because this was one comment i couldn't hear clearly, and i'm sure one of those bleepy things would have cut the comment in any case, i wonder what they've done with those, they would wear them out in no time these days!
