The recent passing of Tom Springfield got me exploring Dusty, and what a great starting point THIS is! I'm in the U.S. and didn't really have much exposure to Dusty unless I made an effort. Ours is a pretty big country, so she may have been bigger in regions other than the one I was in during the '60s. But I do clearly remember telling a kid I was with "Shut up!!!" the first time I heard her voice. It was the most beautiful voice I had heard since Judy Garland. At my young age, I was buying singles. Of course, there was an exception made for The Beatles, but whatever that first Dusty album was, I was at the record store the next day to get my copy. She was rarely on the radio where I was, so that was the only way to hear that wonderful voice. Being a kid, I didn't know anything about record production, but I sure knew that there was something different on hers. I'm glad this doc brought that out. I guess "Dusty in Memphis" was the turning point for everyone I knew. LOADS of Dusty fans came into being with that one. Thanks a billion for posting this video!

Greetings from The UK! Dusty has been my favourite female singer of all time, since i was a child during the Mid 1960's and when we lost her, back in March of 1999, it was, for me, one of those JFK assassination moments, where i remember exactly what i was doing. I was 37 years old and I was chopping up carrots for mine and my dear late husband Tony's dinner, whilst waiting for him to return home from work and when i heard the sad news on BBC Radio 2, i burst into tears and i had to stop what i was doing, until i could compose myself enough to continue. We had heard on the news, she was very ill, but it still came as a shock. This has been the only time, i ever shed tears over the passing of someone famous. who i had never even had the pleasure of ever meeting. Thank you for sharing this lovely tribute, to a lovely lady. I grew up in NY, in the 80's, I witnessed the birth of Hip Hop and, other than disco, that was all I heard on the radio cuz that's all that was played in the streets. Then one day I found myself in Manhattan, at a place called Tower Records with some friends. It was there I first heard "Son Of A Preacher Man" ... that summer I played that cassette till it bound up and snapped up in my dad's car stereo. I bought another one the following weekend and all my friends gave me crap for listening to that 'old' music, but man I was HOOKED. She is, quite simply, enchanting. Her voice exudes sultriness and longing while simultaneously resonating with power and intensity; a magnificent combination only found in the very best vocalists, in my opinion. Dusty was a great stylist, this great smoky voice that so filled with feeling and emotion. Sinatra, Dusty, a few more maybe. There will be nothing like her again. She completely made herself over..nose job and blond hair to resemble an early hero, Doris Day, the clothes devastatingly feminine and classy...she went from a tom boy and learned to be a very gorgeous girl. Demons plagued her all her life but you would never know it, as she led the way along with her fellow Brit Invasion stars, headlined by the Beatles. Oh, what a time that was. @Searlaigh Daily How about that! Banned! I know Paul and Wings had "Give Ireland back to the Irish"....They were more political then, the Beatles, not afraid to speak out. Today you'd lose half of your audience we are so fractured as a society. I just heard my man Ringo say he's for Brexit.

I always loved Dusty Springfield. I sang along as a teenager with her, and loved her beautiful voice. She was amazing. I also copied her makeup style. She was gorgeous!

I very well remember seeing dusty Springfield at the Sheffield City Hall on the 16th of November 1963 as a 19 year old with my girlfriend Pat .One of the songs i remember clearly she sang was Needles and Pins backed by the Searchers who later recorded it themselves and became a number one hit for them in 1964 .Thank you for this brilliant documentary watched through a haze of tears most of the time .Even now as an eighty year old I still think she sounds timeless and evokes so many memories of an incredible era of music and of much less complicated and simpler times

My mum adored her, probably the down to Earth chubby red head that they both were! But ultimately what a voice and what she’s left us will never be forgotten, the world needs another dusty but she will never be replaced

This one made me cry- there is no other voice like hers. RIP Dusty we love you. My favorite is "Windmills of your Mind" it won an Oscar for best song because she sang it.
