@mikekirylo61152 жыл бұрын
Italian original song indeed, but Dusty Springfield sang it better, gave it a wider audience & made it more popular in the UK & America than Giuseppe Pino Donaggio for Italy.

Dusty Springfield - You don't have to say you love me --- داستی اسپرینگفیلد (: Mary Isobel Catherine Bernadette O'Brien) خوانندهٔ پاپ انگلیسی در16 آوریل 1939 در انگلستان متولد شد.

When I said I needed you You said you would always stay It wasn't me who changed but you and now you've gone away Don't you see that now you've gone… You Don't Have to Say You Love Me is the fourth album of singer Dusty Springfield to be released in the USA, issued on the Philips Records label in 1966. The album was more or less a retitled re-issue of Springfield's British album Ev'rything's Coming Up Dusty, recorded and released in 1965, 🎷🥁🎸🎶❤️

I just finished the off-Broadway showing of forever Dusty in New York City, late yesterday evening. Can you believe the voice of a multi-talented performer such as this??? And back in the day she was given a hard time because she was bi-sexual Dusty would be glad and happy that we now have same sex unions, she could now sing and live in peace. What a woman and what a performer. She is sorely missed.

"I Only Want To Be With You" I don't know what it is that makes me love you so I only know I never want to let you go 'Cause you've started something Oh, can't you see? That ever since we met You've had a hold on me It happens to be true I only want to be with you It doesn't matter where you go or what you do I want to spend each moment of the day with you Oh, look what has happened with just one kiss I never knew that I could be in love like this It's crazy but it's true I only want to be with you You stopped and smiled at me And asked if I'd care to dance I fell into your open arms And I didn't stand a chance Now listen honey I just want to be beside you everywhere As long as we're together, honey, I don't care 'Cause you've started something Oh, can't you see? That ever since we met You've had a hold on me No matter what you do I only want to be with you Oh, oh, you stopped and you smiled at me And asked if I'd care to dance I fell into your open arms And I didn't stand a chance Now hear me tell you I just want to be beside you everywhere As long as we're together, honey, I don't care 'Cause you've started something Oh, can't you see? That ever since we met You've had a hold on me No matter what you do I only want to be with you I said no matter, no matter what you do I only want to be with you

She was in her high period of Cocaine and alcohol. But still sounds pretty good. This isn't an easy song to sing. In the 60's dusty made it look so easy , her on stage performances. Drugs and alcohol can destroy your voice. She quit drinking and drugs in 83 but continued smoking. I've watched her live performances in 89 through 95 and she still sounds pretty good.Really i don't know how she did it she had stage fright too, plagued with insecurities. But still managed to be In the R&R HALL.
@911insidejo813 жыл бұрын
@tank3ful ...absolutely and fer sure. I would say there are only a couple of black female singers that cut her globally. Her voice is distinct and strange (in a good way) and for some reason it translated to amazing effect on record. Years ago I bought a 3-disc compilation and it was amazing. A lot of the tracks were covers and she just cuts way beneath the surface of those songs. There is something about her singing that is haunting, ghostly and yet enormously emotional.
