As a 2024 duster 4x4 owner, the s-cross is just better, it did all the test with the less wheel spin and more torque sent to the wheels that had grip… but it cost about 9k more on the manual version… maybe is justified

Hello. I had Duster 1.5 dci Prestige for 4 years. Good car but I sold it in January and bought S-Cross Automatic and Allgrip. Very big difference and much better car believe me. Duster its not bad but when compared with S-Cross there are two different worlds. Everything works better on Suzuki

@@altini7 as it would be, your car new was about 15 to 17k euros, the scross is this twice that… it should be also better in every way vs the new duster… it is about 30-40% more expensive

( If that is you sir xD ) I read trough and watchd all the videos in a ertain thread on the toyotaowners forum about Yaris Cross AWD-i capabilities, and saw your significant contributions on the topic. And I am considering buying a Corolla Cross or C-HR 2.0 Hybrid so I am trying to hunt down any information about the capabilities of thier AWD-i systems. I would appreciate any thoughts/infos. I am hopingt a 30 kW / 84 Nm 600V electric motor would do a better job than a 5.0 or 5.3 kW / 55 Nm or 2.2kW/44nm, 201V that is in the yaris cross/lexus ux. But then again it could be a complete let down like the Yaris Cross AWD-i. (never tried it just seen the videos.) Not really expecting to get a real off road vehicle just for it to be able to deal with traction loss and not have to reverse gear it like a fwd vehicle up a snowy icey road like yaris cross that followed the skier in the Rasto video.

@@glinomarauder2995 Cheers, Garth is one of my nicknames, that's me 🙂 Yaris Cross is a special case... But take a look at other videos on my channel, there is a few versions of hybrid Rav4 and some hybrid Lexus cars. Corolla Cross or CH-R should have much better systems due to stronger rear motor, however - older models, having strong motors, did fail just like Yaris Cross... Newer ones are much better tuned.

@@4x4.tests.on.rollers Dang that is definitely concerning a bit. Since This info is super hard to come by, and it's impossible for me to test it in such situations before I buy the car. I searched everywhere for some real world snow tests or roller tests can't find a single one for new c-hr or new corolla cross 2.0 hybrids awd. Will definitely look for some vids of the rav hybrid on the channel. To be frank it would be dissapointing to pay the extra price for the awd-i for it to be so incompetent at not so extreme tasks... Pop into the forum if you catch some time again. I know it's a bit hard to stay cool with all the bias but you seemed to be doing a great job of it xD Cheers!

You put those green dots on tyres to count the number of wheel rotations before the traction control reacts. Why dacia, despite being more off-road focused, has poor TC than suzuki.

@@kordaxmint533 You are right, I checked S60 CC which was quite similar to the both above, S60 was quicker in reactions. Maybe crossovers are tuned for more wheelspin, I don't know 🙂

I wouldnt compare premium brand to budget ones. Volvo is different league. Closer to Audi Q5 (which in my opinion had best result on rollers, except FEVs)

@@Arek771y Modern Volvos are made of sht (and I owned one). It's not about league, cars that are oriented on offroad driving should perform better than comfortable sedans for daily driving.

Dacia Duster, after 14 years - still is a 4x2,5 vehicle!!! (the 0,5 grade is indulgently given, because it does still put some torque to the rear wheels sometime) After 14 years!!!! Still useless vehicle in slippery conditions like snow, mud and sand!!! Those wheels that are spinning with less grip, are digging in slippery conditions - which makes impossible to get out of the situation!!! Do keep in mind that this roller tests are done in flat terrain, meaning no inclination - thus making easier for the electronic management system!!! In real life, if there is any slight inclination and there are slippery conditions - Duster is done! And that's aside from the fact that the Haldex clutch will overheat and disengage after 60 seconds - as stated in owner manual!

Watch other suv/crossover and you will see that duster is a very capable off roader, the roller test just showed that. You are just a hater of Dacia brand, simply that!

@@PaunFD Two thins must be corrected. First - rollers are actually simulating an incline because wheels sit deep inside, they are not on a flat surface. Second - Duster doesn't have haldex but electromagnetic coupling.

in the meantime, you can rage as much as you want, when there was a snowstorm and my 2wd couldn't take me to work, it was an Duster 4x4 that managed to do it, but I arrived on time and I didn't lose my job 👍👍 we can criticize the Dusters as many times as we want, but the 4WD version works very well anyway, it's still much better than a 2wd 👍👍
