From your tests I think the Quattro Ultra on Q5 and Tesla Model X have the fastest reacting AWD on rollers, very impressive.

Some Subaru, Suzuki, Jeep were the same fast or fastest. So was Benz, it all depends what you measure - time or amount of wheelspin. There is also Land Rover, but that's another story.

Nope. Land Rover is the master :) it moved "just on click" :) But in fact, Tesla was also impressive and Subaru was also quick enough, too. Q5 is like Subaru Level. But GLC - slightly disappointing as for price it costs...

its still a haldex, i think they should compare a torsen with a permanent 4 matic, with haldex differentials the results are pretty the same

In this case I would definitely choose Mercedes. It has permanent, rwd biased, mechanical system with great help from electronics. Audi has Quattro Ultra system, which is entirely based on electronics and mechanically very complicated (disconnecting drive shaft).

Unlike this Q5, Benz has center diff. And there is different ideology for traction control, majority of 4Matic systems spin the wheels very very slowly in such situations, even with pedal to the metal.

The car’s anti-slip logic is trying to figure out which wheels have traction, and then it’s using the brakes to transfer the power to the wheel with traction. It needs to use the brakes because the diffs are open.

@@RRaspy Have you ever heard about μ, the coefficient of friction? Tyres are not slipping on the ground, so static μ value is not exceeded. So no influence for the test. That comes directly from physics, not from opinions. Drivers push accelerator pedal to a certain level and wait for system reaction - nothing more. Other are factors are marginal and may be important in labolatory, but not here. Saludos.
