Hi Stefan, you must to be, I´ve seen the video, and what a hands!, because in the first 180º turn, the torque vectoring control not was helping at all, causing a massive oversteer that he corrected quickly. I suppose they have finally fixed, set it properly for all conditions is not an easy task.

@@LuigisDesign you kidding? the direction change was nuts, bro also corrected it faster than you could blink. Prototype and formula cars wish they could turn this fast in a slow corner.
@LaggerSVK5 ай бұрын
@@corpsecoder_nw6746 if you look into torque diagram you can actually see that something went wrong there and car was working with TV against the driver making it still oversteer even when correction was applied. The driver is really good. Car also but certainly there was a TV issue in that 180 corner.

0:06-0:09 the direction change was 150 degrees to the right in under 1 second. Unbelievable. The g-force reading was going nuts, swinging from 1.5 to 2.3 but it probably would've been higher if the accelerometers were placed on the left edge of the car or something because the yaw onset and quick countersteer was nuts.

This is the fastest thing I've seen. Great driver, greater engineering. I can only dream of knowing the specs of the car and what kind of tire compounds they have.
@lucassanches3568 Жыл бұрын
I might be mistaken, but these could be regular FSAE specific Hoosier LC0 slicks. Very popular amongst FSAE teams where I'm from, but these guys are much higher up, so it could be something else
@BBoyStian Жыл бұрын
We are using double-compound 14.4" tires that we developed in collaboration with Vredestein. I'm not certain about the specs of the DUT19, but our latest cars, the DUT22 and DUT23, are equipped with four custom Fischer motors, one in each wheel. This configuration provides a total output of approximately 140 kW (185 HP) and 1260 Nm of torque. The energy is stored in a self-developed 7.0 kWh LCO lithium-ion pouch cell accumulator. The car's weight is slightly over 170 kg, including all fluids.

0:31-0:34 again the direction change is scarcely believeable. How do the tires have so much grip at such low speed? What kind of aero is on the car? How is the car quickly stopping the inside tires, lighting up the outside tires and then stopped from spinning by a driver with cat-like reflexes? The 90 degree change of directions happened in 0.7 seconds, through a narrow chicane no less where the steering has to cross from one side to another.

0:08 you brake and accelerate without pedal inputs... how does this work?
@boniew47674 жыл бұрын
Looks like the stability control system kicked in. Outside wheels drive, inside wheels brake to assist the turn.

That will indeed be the electronically controlled torque vectoring
@schnitzelchn76943 жыл бұрын
This is actually not compliant with the FSG Rules
@LaggerSVK2 жыл бұрын
@@schnitzelchn7694 without pedal inputs they should only regen with the motors, no positive torque. It looks like this is not happening there. This is something that I was wrapping my head around how to make the TV like that and rules compliant. Its really a rule that goes against torque vectoring capabilities but also a rule that is probably hard to test during scrutineering. It looks like they are not compliant with it.

This is INSANELY fast. It's almost hard to know that at our team we're designing something that will not even compare to this. This is a superior car, I can't imagine what a rollercoaster must it be for the driver. Also, I wanted to ask you a favor, if I may. I'm a member of the UniTS Racing Team based in Trieste and we're at our second year. Since I'm starting a series of videos to document our development, I wanted to introduce it by explaining what Formula Student/Formula SAE is. But we just competed in static events, held remotely due to pandemic, so we don't have any footage from the track. Could I use a bit of this video when I'm explaining what FSAE is and that cars are * very * fast? I'd add your channel's name at the bottom while the video is playing, list the link to the original footage in the video information and thank you and all other creators that allowed me to use their content both in the video and in a pinned comment. Let me know what you decide! And keep up the good work, you guys have great fans down here in Trieste, we simply love your cars!

Do you really achieve -80 kW regenerative Brake power or is the calculation based on Mechanical brakes?
@MrPownize3 жыл бұрын
It is all regenerative braking, so not taking mechanical brakes into account
@lukasbaldo50222 жыл бұрын
Formula student cars are limited to 80kW output power from the battery but there is no limit on regen so there are team that regen even more. And it's all regen with a AWD car and troque vectoring that bettern than any mechanical breaks could be
@GrenYT2 жыл бұрын
I'm curious how they can reach 80kW Regen using melasta cells though. Melasta usually doesn't let you use a very high charging current
@eIektrinis Жыл бұрын
@@GrenYT I wonder what regen can be achieved with VTC6 or similar cells. Have anything to report?

@@eIektrinis those cells are garbage. They only allow 2C charge, so a normal FSAE battery size of ~7kwh would only get 14kw Regen
