He’s, is cool he can really make some great modifications. Because of my age 64 and disabled I keep it simple, what’s cool is you can do a lot with these military issue equipment. Thanks Bearhunter5

if your not phased about mixing camo pattern try and hunt down a USGI sustainment pouch ...a fair bit bigger than the Dutch one you have your basha in and I feel you'll probably fit your pegs in comfortably too. I run two of them and find them bloody great for quick access to rainlayers and tarp for when sh#t hits the fan 🤙

Woodlorien on eBay still makes lids. Does them for a range of cups/pots.

Great video. In our Czech army we have an exact description of where things belong to the backpack and where to place. I use the British DPM Bergen the biggest with aluminum support frame, I also have MTP clothing but DPM Bergen I only throw "cover bag" with MTP or flectarn, the British field bottles are great, I also use steel drink where I cook water and in Plastic then for tea, porridge, mussli, etc. We want you and wish you strength and good mood 🙂

Great video, I like mixing camouflage particularly like to wear an mtp smock and dpm trousers or visa versa. Like the way the Saracen has molle on the waist belt, that’s missing on the Sting and definitely something I’ll consider adding. Just picked up a grade 2 mtp PRI 45l infantry bergen at a car boot for £30 minus side pouches. Have you used one of these Bex? Thinking it will work well with a belt kit.

You''ll get flayed alive in the comments for daring to mix and match your kit if anyone reads this heresy.....lol People loose their shit with me if I don't have the same tea spoon as them.....lol Thanx for watching boss.

There is a difference between the Sting and the Stingray... the Sing is just a regular bergen type pack with one main pocket, where as the Stingray has a lower compartment and an extra zip on the lower end of the backpack so you can access it. Both are supposed to be 55L and the side pockets 10L each... giving around 75L total.. I have the Sting and have molle'd an Osprey water bottle pouch which takes my 'Heavy Cover lid', the Crusader Cup, the water bottle and a titanium Spork..As I put the lid at the bottom I can't fit the plastic cup, but then I don't use it any way..

Top notch video Bex,i was hoping for a video on this pack. I have the stingray one,cost me £35 from forces uniform and kit. They also do quite a selection of Dutch army surplus. What i have noticed is the British pouches dont fit the ladder its very tight,also no ladder on the hip belt with the stingray. But all in all for £35 its a bloody bargain.cheers and all the best fella.

Really great video on this backpack, one question does this pack have the possibility to fit the British PLCE Bergen rocket pouches ? I wanted to get one without the pouches since I already have the British side pouches. Thanks a lot for all the great videos and content you put out there.
@bexbugoutsurvivor2 жыл бұрын
The tooth size is identical. However on the Lowe Alpine both zips are sewn upright, but on the Brit Rocket pouch one zip is sewn inverted, so only one will zip up, possible but far from ideal. Watch my review of the Saracen to see if it helps. LOWE ALPINE "SARACEN" DUTCH ARMY 120 LITRE BERGEN....(Detailed Overview)...bexbugoutsurvivor. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eHWpZ6ebhbSaidE Solution would be to unpick the stitching on the pouch in the main seam, invert the zip & re-sew the rocket to got order. (not a massive job, just a massive pain in the arse)....all the best best

Hi Bex, you’ve made some great videos. I’ve been following for a while and have started modding a longback PLCE bergen. Do you have any advice on making the shoulder straps more comfortable?
@bexbugoutsurvivor2 жыл бұрын
The simplest thing would be to use foam tubes (Pipe lagging) and use camo snipper tape to secure. Any other method would involve using a donner pack, and transferring the shoulder harness, big job....b

I recently picked up a dutch 35L patrol bag, as a day sack and have added 4 water bottle pouches to the outside, (2 for water, 2 for food). Dutch army kit is well made, impressed with it and seem to have a growing collection (patrol bag, poncho, x2 woobies, steel mess tins, water bottles and steel mugs) brit 58 pattern bottles are wider than the dutch bottles which are in the US style, i have a couple of different dutch bottles (on is very tall, another is short, but both a 1L) ... need to see if i can get a dutch metal mug in one of those pouches. I run hot and cold on bladders.
@bexbugoutsurvivor2 жыл бұрын
Can't find my old US pat bottles and cup pots, had loads a few years ago. Will try the Dutch bottle and cup set, maybe they will fit the water bottle pouch better as a solo unit. I have the same thoughts regarding bladders, however I have an eye opening video coming up soon. It seems to me the existing style of bladders have really bad ergonomics and detract from the load carry ability, and the new shape bladders have eliminated that awkward discomfort, and bad weight shifting issue. Semi exo frame packs work better for bladders, rather than the internal bladder sleeve or side mounting options....Thanks for watching, all the best bex.
@neilcastell69512 жыл бұрын
@@bexbugoutsurvivor I’ve struggled with where to carry a bladder, eventually settled most of the time with carrying it horizontally across my stomach. On a Bergen I’ve just modded I added buckles so I can carry a bladder on the outside. Found carrying them in the pack stole a lot of space.
@bexbugoutsurvivor2 жыл бұрын
For sure. The closest thing to your belly carry method I have, is the chest rig, swapping out bladder to LRRP. My latest carry method are Nalgele bottles and Nalgene pouches on a yoke and platform belt. Yoke and platform I know is not to everyone's taste, but my pack is the BCB 25 litre international, albeit with civvy kit inside, and water needs to be carried external to the pack. I have once tried carrying bladders on their side as you do, but found if water level fell below the valve, and was unable to hydrate any further. However a fix project could be cutting the valve out and moving it to the former side (now bottom) a patch and silicon adhesive would seal the existing cut opening. This would also benefit those wishing to place their hydro in the top hood which I have tried, but the water sloshing so close to my hearing drove me bonkers...lol. But from the perspective of ergonomics it was perfect. I guess there are as many methods as there are types of hydro, and all need to be explored for the purpose of creating KZbin channel content. Of course there are some on the channel who think what I show on my channel is my preference, rather than displaying alternative methods. My personal (Off camera) set up is so over simplified it would be a boring watch....lol All the best, bex.

What is the best back pack I can use ? I'm homeless and don't have much money, but I'm in good shape and don't mind carrying a few extra pounds.
@bexbugoutsurvivor Жыл бұрын
I too was homeless some time ago, I would use the Royal Engineers All Arms Bergen (the Turtle Back) £30 from surplus shop, is light and durable, with cargo straps top and bottom to stow tent, and roll mat. This leaves an inner chamber of 65 Litres. Look online for one, and have it delivered to a drop-shop, that is how I got stuff delivered when I was homeless. The toughest bit about being homeless is loneliness, so try some volunteering work, as a social out let, it will open up doors to your advantage....good luck buddy ...bex

For only 40-50$ US$ the British and Dutch 120 liter is bombproof, a bit heavy empty 7 or 8 lbs. but will last longer than you. Ha ha thanks Bearhunter5
