Dutch History: Dream Island for Boys From Amsterdam East (1957)

EN - To decrease the rowdiness of the children, a summer camp for boys is held on an island that has been made available in the east of Amsterdam. The children sail to the island in a rowing boat, where they light fires, build huts and keep animals. The island is called 'Boys' Land East' or 'Here it is'. It's an initiative of the UVV and the Amsterdam Student Union and is led by mr. Vlaanderen.
NL - Om de baldadigheid van de kinderen te verminderen wordt er een zomerkamp voor jongens gehouden op een ter beschikking gesteld eiland in Amsterdam-Oost. De kinderen varen in een roeiboot naar het eiland, waar ze vuurtjes stoken, hutten bouwen en dieren houden. Het eiland heet 'Jongensland Oost' of 'Hier is het'. Het is een initiatief van de UVV en de Amsterdamse Studentenvakbond en staat onder leiding van dhr. Vlaanderen.

Zo leuk om te zien. Nu begrijp ik ook waar het Kinderparadijs in Purmerend zijn oorsprong heeft. nog steeds bestaand zag ik.
