Kickboxing is one of the arts I have trained most and the Netherlands is somewhere I have spent a considerable amount of time. Here I go through a push back sequence to set up the head kick finish that you can work as a flow drill in pad work utilising the new range of equipment from Punchtown. You can find out more about the Punchtown range by reading one of our linked reviews on the Warrior Collective Blog (www.warriorcollective.co.uk) or by visiting www.made4fighters.com.

Excellent coach, perfectly executed. Not sure I’d be able to remember the entire combination, but I’ll try.

I never figured out how you can execute these long ass combo from beginning to end in a fight. You must be a real beginner to let your opponent doing all this without even trying to counter after this first switch left kick (with is soo readable by the way. why do you need to switch? it's like "hey, look, I'm gonna throw a left kick!").

NoBullshit Kickboxing it's a flow drill.. I don't think he's implying you'd pull of the whole combo in a fight.

NoBullshit Kickboxing- You must a beginner/novice .. If you think left switch kicks do not work. You need to study Muay Thai and watch the fights. You missed the point of long ass drills.. Flow dtills are used for muscle memory, rimproving reaction, and coordination. Duh! Obviously in a real fight it would be different.

The long pad drills combos aren't necessarily combos you can throw in a fight. The point of them is to work on muscle memory, seeing options and having lots of options available because you trained them a billion times, agility, working on balance while throwing kicks then punches and punches and kicks, getting fight specific cardio from training on throwing lots of hard and fast shots, technique as well while fresh at the start all the way through to the end after you are tired, etc etc. The list goes on and on. The switch kick is very important in any good strikers arsenal. It's fast and powerful, it can cause a little uncertainty in your opponent on what's coming, it can be used defensively if your opponent is a brawler type or likes to attack with a lot of punches (see buakaw vs Mike zambidas), it can be used to feint or fake into multiple other strikes and it is great for setting up other strikes if you drive them back with it. There's many other reasons it's a great kick but at 4 am I'm too tired to think anymore.

@@khanofkhans6546 Combinatorics are good for static training of a fighter. But this combination seemed to me with a hint of intelligence. Personally, it's not entirely clear to me how exactly this combination is applied to dynamic learning. =(
