30th was Queensday. It was to celebrate the queen. But now we have a king, so we don't celebrate our queen anymore (no matter how lovely and beautiful she is) The reason for that isn't because a queen is less than a kind, but because our current queen is not a descendant of Willem of Orange.

I’m feeling like this comment section is the perfect reflection of the Netherlands. Nearly every comment is English but if you look at the names, it’s clear they’re nearly all dutch. Now I feel a bit of envy of Dutch people. In Spain, we don't have a King's day. In fact, more than a half of population doesn't want the monarchy. Furthermore, the Queen doesn't follow the protocol and she sometimes behaves badly with the mother Queen. I'm not proud of them, so I'm glad that Dutch actually are. 🇳🇱👑

Thank you for your comment, I am Dutch and currently studying in Madrid. I was telling my teacher yesterday about the Kingsday celebration we will have on Saturday and she looked at me slightly confused, now I know why haha

@@Ines124 your teacher must be Republican. Hahaha. We never had an actual devotion for our previous kings neither. They made lots of mistakes and couldn't win the heart of citizens. These ones, who are in power since 2014, aren't improving neither. The King can't control his wife. She did a big scandal last year when she embarrassed her mother-in-law in front of all cameras. I'm Cristina and I'm from Alicante. I'm glad that you stay in Madrid. I had two Dutch classmates last semester. They were very nice and cute.
