One thing I’ve noticed is that a lot of people are willing to ignore everything jack Perry did to lead to this. Everyone focuses on the choke which is obviously wrong but Perry was going around cussing out coworkers and higher ups, and not listening to what he was told. Most jobs he would have already been fired, not allowed out on tv. Obviously punk shouldn’t do what he did but is Perry just allowed to act however he wants with no consequences? If Perry is allowed to play by wrestler rules, so is punk

This is why you don't make talent authority figures in your wrestling company. Everyone's blaming Phil Brooks, but I remember when I decided to check out AEW on the rumour that CM Punk, a guy I wasn't necessarily a fan of because I haven't watched wrestling regularly in decades but who there was a lot of buzz around, was signing with them. I went on their website to see who was on their roster, and I was taken aback at not just the active wrestlers who were in executive positions but the no-named wrestlers in executive positions. I'm sure these guys have a following with the internet crowd and in TNA, New Japan or wherever else they've wrestled, but I'd never heard of these guys. When I looked up Kenny Omega, people were calling him the second coming of Brian Pillman, but every KZbin video I saw of him led me to the opposite conclusion. He seemed like a joke. I barely knew CM Punk from Adam, but now I kind of love the guy. He's a Bret Hart fan, and from what I've seen an actual storyteller in the ring. He doesn't just do moves to get pops and he can cut a great promo. I never got caught up in the CM Punk hype, though. Having said that, it sounds like he's right. He worked with kids and they were his bosses. He came to AEW to draw money and help build the company. Clearly that was a secondary goal for everyone else in the company. They say all the right things, but they don't walk the walk.

Punk does not end good in this drama, neither do the Bucks or Page. But the worse-off are TK and JP without a doubt. First I’ve heard anyone speculate that Jungle Boy had permission. Not sure I buy-in to that. Would be surprised that talent would feel the need to get permission directly from Tony on something like that. The EVPs seem to have power at times and at other times not, depending on how easy it is take or assign credit/blame for something. Jungle Boy could feel comfortable just asking them for permission. In regards to Collision, Punk seemed to either oversee or at least be able to make a call on something. Of course, I could see this not being communicated to talent whatsoever. It happens all the time in industry. Someone within an office gets elevated as a decision gatekeeper for their group without management clearly letting all of his/her peers know that.

I loved watching Memphis on Saturday mornings in the mid 80’s. Some of my earliest memories really was Dutch and Lawler. I hated it when I slept too long, I’ve been a night owl since a child so I’ve never been a morning person, but I always wanted to watch “wasslin” Saturday. I had a ring with (knockoff 😂) wrestlers that I wore out back then in front of the tv. I really miss the way wrestling was presented. I’m actually getting reluctantly excited with WWE right now. I haven’t watched since the end of the AE. Shit got too hokey. Then AEW came with this promise of having a product that looked and acted like they were really doing the things to each other they showed on tv. But it only took about a week to see that was complete bullshit. But WWE seems like they’re bringing some reality back, and maybe more important, their talent seems to get it and are acting the same way. I don’t get why these other guys can’t act like it’s real. How hard is that, to only do shit that’s actually POSSIBLE? I have hopes for WWE and who knows maybe I’ll get back in to wrestling.

Now Tony have gone out of his way to show the footage of the altercation to satisfy his little bruised ego. The time to show the footage should've been right at time of Punk's exit and not in response Punk's criticisms of the Aew and Tony. TK tried to address the critisms making Adam Copeland do a promo "Aew is where the best wrestles", which he shouldn't have done it in the first place but when that backfired he's resorting to these cheap theatrics to gain viewership. Even after 8 months, Punk brings in more views on AEW than anyone of the backyard trampoline gymnyst. But this would a lot worse.
