I do my favorite, peach upside down cake. Peaches and brown sugar on bottom and box of yellow cake on top, same deal with cooking. Clean up the same, but I dump coals off lid and wash with water and brush, dry, light oil, lid back on bottom put some old coals on lid and let it go.

That clean up tip was great. I've done that inside but never thought to do it on the coals.

If you leave it in longer it at what point would it be considered overcooked?

The Dutch oven came in and the Peach Cobbler was a resounding success! Thanks and keep up the good work.

Awesome cobbler! Another tip is to get the special disposable aluminum inserts for the dutch ovens so there is literally no cleanup :)

Yes, clean the oven while it's hot. Another tip is line it with tin foil. Will also make cleanup easier. And, you can lift the whole cobbler out of the oven with it if you're careful.

Six red pine cones work as starter in your chimney . Or use diced canned peaches when you dont use fresh . Use long tongs when moving coals . I USE A chain mail pot scrubber made by a blacksmith to clean my cast iron , not a scouring pad 😊

To get 350 degrees in a Dutch oven is very simple ... if you have 12 inch Dutch Oven you put 12 charcoal briskets on the bottom and 24 on top ... I use actual Charcoal briskets because they are easier to get it right .. ... Just remember what ever size Ditch Oven you have you put same amount of charcoal in bottom and double it on the top ... Example : 8 inch Dutch oven put 8 charcoal on bottom 16 on top .. 12 inch Dutch oven put 12 charcoal on the bottom and 24 on top ...
