My female Dutchie isn’t even 2 yet and she’s already 78-80Lbs & about 26” at the shoulder. She’s a beast and protective of anyone she loves, as well as anyone I POSITIVELY welcome (meaning, she’s cool with non-family members as long as I’m cool with them). She’s the most loving and sweet dog I’ve ever raised. Not to mention, she’s just one massive goofball.

Dutch Shepherds are the LONGEST LIVING of the three Western European breeds. It's not uncommon for them to reach 14-16. My mother had one who who died aged 18, although admittedly that is not that common, but virtually unheard of for a Malinois. Having said that, I love all three breeds. I do like the Dutch Shepherd's three very different guises! The rough-haired version is a sight to behold.

I thought Dutch Shepherds were slightly heavier than the Malinois. Possibly the Malinois has a tighter breed standard and the maker of the video doesn’t know much about Dutch Shepherds.

You will never see these in a cowdog or sheepdog trail. Arena? Meh.. maybe. But so could a lab at some of those trials. Be real your getting this for protection work most likely. Want a stockdog? Get a working border collie.
