There is a cycle route in Bangkok that was developed by a Dutch guy who moved to Bangkok many years ago. He died a few years ago and donated the store with the cycles rented out to do the route to his employees. It’s a well known chop and touristy thing do in Bangkok, this cycling route.

Great video once again! And I just came back from work. So it’s funny to see my workplace in this video(The Rijksmuseum). The pedestrian & cycle lanes run through our museum. It does causes some difficult situations. Because tourists are not used to our infrastructure, so they often venture out into the bike lanes, without even looking for traffic. This sometimes causes some serious accidents.

Drivers respect cyclist, not only because of the law, but als because every driver in the Netherlands is a cyclist him self.

Exactly! Drivers are pedestrians and cyclists too

17:29 as cardriver approaches zebrac rossing, pedestrians have priority..even when they stand, litterally at the crossing to attempt to cross...cars MUST jield..if not and an accident...cardiver is fined, bigtime... speeding in citylimits..if you speed too fast on highway the fines are expensive, most expensive in Europe, but when caught speeding in city limits.. they just double it..period. Nothing to argue..you drove your car 5 km to fast in city limits, you get the double fine.

I would recommend a food-tour through Amsterdam, it's much like this one, a tour through the city by bicycle and it stops at several (quite a lot) restaurants, café's, bars and bistro's where you can try typical or a-typical Dutch drinks, food and snacks and along the way you drive past the city highlights, the guide will tell all sorts of info of the city and you really experience the vibe of the city in a rather relaxed and pleasant way. Ifff the weather cooperates that is.

15;11 no it isn't anti car.. I am from Groningen, and they are steps ahead of what Amsterdam does.. but what is also needed to be told is.. atleast from my living in Groningen.. whenever an accident occurs the cardriver is to blame..no matter what, they have to prove the cyclist was wrong, and the fines are high..highest in Europe. That has to implemented aswell when wanting to change current cities to what Netherlands cities have with cycling..

In any accident, cardriver will need to prove they could not help it, when not car is guilty.

I don't know if you ever wondered why everybody in Holland has these indistructable black krates on the front of their bike....Well, they are very useful to tranport your handbag and groceries, but when you slam into a 500.000 euro Tesla, with 40 Km/h, you will not be hurt, and the car is guilty by law anyway. 😁. That's why they are on the front, and your dog on the back. The chance of your bike getting stolen is far less than your black milk krate, they are hard to get, for they will save your life. You can slam into a lamppost, stupid drunk and get back up. Better than the plastic fender of a 500.000 Eu Tesla. Sometimes you don't hear them coming. And these fancy cars don't want to get hit by an almost 2 m Dutch guy at that speed, so they are more careful, insurense won't pay.

Cars have to stop when pedestrians are looking at a zebra crossing

Ruky, usually this type of videos are made by and teaching other Urban Designers. Look at specific design elements of streets, what is good, bad, needs improvement etc from where you are living, or from where the video is made. Comparing for improvement. The reasons a car will wait is very simple. Pedestriand and people on a bicycle are vulnerable traffic participants, so if you hit them even if they were in the wrong, you will be the one paying the fine etc for it.

I live in Amsterdam, and it has been not safe for bike riders for a long time now. There are a lot of Moroccan immigrants, and they just don't care! Most of them don't use turn signals and drive like idiots. A few days ago a mother a child were run over and died, and the Moroccan just kept on driving, he was caught 3 days later, he went to get his car fixed and the car mechanics found a piece of a child skull in the radiator,

You are talking crap. Where is the proof. The past months there 'has not been a mother-and-child died from a moroccan car' in Amsterdam. There is no mention of such in the media. Unless you come up with any credible source, we can safely assume you are telling lies.
