Virtuovice? That dude’s a wizard with a sharpening stone
@greekveteran2715
@greekveteran2715 4 жыл бұрын
Dr Wako, literally learned how to sharpen on stones, while making his KZbin videos. He has reached an acceptable level but far from professional, wizard or anything between those lines. I know that we all love him and you all are going to try to prove me wrong, but that's my opinion, no matter if people are going to like it or not. Sharpening is all about experience and the thirst to get better. It takes too long to master it and you always learn something new. I also don't agree, with his leather stropping technique. I always suggest to people, to put the strop flat and stable on a table and always go slow and keep the same angle. A couple of degrees off and you dull the edge instead of polishing it. Sorry for my Enlgish. I don't speak English fluently, I'm probably funnier than dr Wako on that!!
@camorakidd_edc
@camorakidd_edc 3 жыл бұрын
@@greekveteran2715 I agree 100%. Often his knives are not sharp after a 2k stone and he just strops them sharp and uses to high of an angle which rounds the edge. His stropping technique is not really good..

I'm so happy that you made this video to honour Virtuovice, as he is indeed a legend and so worthy of our praise. I have been hunting big game since I was 14 here in Canada, and I still hunt every year and I'm 53 now, but I can guarantee that Virtuovice has taken more animals in more places than I will ever do, and that sort of dedication to hunting, to knives is something that should definitely be applauded in this day and age, and I'm delighted to see you boys looking up to him in this way!! Outstanding!!

Plus I was friends with the Japanese students at my school. Japanese Air Lines trained their pilots in my town.

My favorite video of him he's testing a Benchmade Griptilian. After sharpening, he did a cutting test on wood with a rubber mat underneath. After a few cuts, the knife broke the wood, and went into the rubber mat. He sounded surprised, lifted the mat, and said "Table is okay" in his normal English speaking voice. I think the name of the video is just called 'Awesome Griptilian'.
