Sim card is cheaper out side. In the airport it is expensive. I bought a 30gb sim for Rs 1100 from mobitel shop in Kribathgoda.

Yes but it is convenient to obtain a sim at the Airport and make any calls and doing any taxi or hotel bookings while at the airport before travel out side.

Api use kale uber newi. pick me (very similar). Airport wifi eka app eka download kara ganne puluwan (or download the app while in UK) Pick me app register wenne local mobile no ekak owne. Me wedeta unlock phone ekak owne. UK phone eka network lock num wene sim weda karanne ne.

Airport eken dialog sim, unlimited calls & data package ekak dala dena kiyala ethna staffta kivwama cheat kala last year...Rs.7500 aragena hora sim number ekakata register karala only rs.800 dala ithuru sali eya aragena apita phone eka duna...every thing ok kiyala. Then after few days walin no calls no data..passe dialog head office eke all afternoon time waste karala...una de kiyala ...eyala sorry kiyala apita package ekak free dala dunna. So disappointed. Tourist kenekta mehema kalama ayeth lankawata ena hithene wath nahe. Everywhere is cheating... pick me drive karana aya long route wala ekan gihin extra rs.500 ganawa. Google eke road eka penuwama sorry eee road eke traffic nathinam road close kiyanawa. Money dunama changes back dene nahe. Harima corruption everywhere. So disappointed. I wouldn't let anyone to go Sri Lanka. Bahutharayak boru karane. Budu dahama thibunata wadak nahe. Minisunge hasirima anthimai. I am sorry i have to say the truth. If u don't know don't go. That bad.

Godak ratawal wala tourist lawa balaganawa...cheat karanawa adui...namuth lankawe tourist lawa rawatala kada gana thamai balane. Paw minisu ehema wene palakayo & economy down nisa. Lassana ratak lankawa aparade mehema dewal unama ayeth minisunta yana hithene nahe. Tourism walin wath sadaranawa hamba kara gana dane nahe. Oyala karana videos hodai..keep it up.
