A bit disconcerting when a motor sounds that harsh even when it's running perfectly! The price of horsepower! From the cockpit makes a griffon sound smooth.

Ich habe ne Riesenbitte: Macht doch mal ein Video mit der GoPro aus Pilotensicht, also zb per Kopfband. Ich denke viele würden das sehr sehr gerne sehen!

+GreenHell Ich glaube dafür ist die Kabine zu niedrig. Aber eine mit Brustgurt wäre super, durch den Weitwinkel würde man das ganze Cockpit sehen können.

+Marty A I think the G-10 is down for engine overhaul or engine replacement, and the G-6 is in extended maintenance and overhaul. So there is just the G-4 "Red 7" that is flying after repairs from the belly landing. I am bit surprised the Flugmuseum Messerschmitt has not added a Bf-109E to the stable since a fully restored one was for sale recently, but perhaps the asking price was not appealing. Several more G series are currently being rebuilt in Germany, but they are going to different homes.

Thanks for the info as I cant recall seeing any footage of the G10 flying in its new scheme as Yellow 3 only as Black 2 but hopefully it will be up and about some time soon.

Marty A I know I've seen a clip of Yellow 3 somewhere, but cannot find it. I think it was a video from the Flugmuseum Messerschmitt during a test flight. Yagan's museum just got the Bf 109 uncrated and I think they are starting engine runs. Yagan owns a few Fw190As that are in restoration also.

XskiXedgeX The German ministry of aviation gave it the designation Bf 109 because it was produced by Bayerische Flugzeugwerke (Bavarian Aircraft Company).

seraf4ever The first 109`s have stumps with ME 109 in the early state (Prototypes). After they where mass Produced by the Bayrische Flugzeugwerke and registred by the German ministry of aviation it gets his BF 109 designation. Some Prototype 109 Parts with the Stamp ME 109 where also build in "official" BF109`s. Thats maybe a reason why some people means it`s called me 109.

cpawp She started life as a Buchon. The rebuild does have an actual DB engine i think.

cpawp The frame is from a Buchon the engine is a DB 605 A.

cpawp Orginal it was a Buchon H.A. 1112 M1L build in 1950 known as yellow 11 and red 14 (Movie: Battle of Britan) which they rebuild to a BF 109 G4 .The Frame itself where more G6 but was so hard damaged that they make a new G4 because of the motorcannon bulbs which eats a lot of visibility. The Engine is a DB 605 A build from many other DB 605 Engine Parts.
