Excellent instruction, thank you. Do you have a good sense about the idea of moving from Fusion360 Free Version over to FreeCAD 1.0? Maybe you have experienced that yourself. You have certainly gotten really good at FreeCAD. For those of us thinking about moving over, we are really interested in alot of things like 1. Will we be able to do everything we are used to in Fusion 360 ? 2. Are there any showstoppers to the move because something critical is missing in FreedCAD ? Like for example, I see that the projections tools in FreeCAD are not as robust, and I don't see any support for 3D Drawings. If true, a persons workflow could become much slower. Then again, maybe there are alternative workflows in FreeCAD that are efficient ? I'm talking about for fairly sophisticated designs, not just rudimentary forms. 3. Bottom line, if we start learning FreeCAD are we just going to get frustrated at some point and give it up ? Or will we feel pulled in because it has some great features and of course not being cloud based it is more responsive, as well as not having the limitations (10 active documents) that Fusion 360 puts on us. But Fusion 3360 is pretty powerful and it takes a while to learn so once we learned it farily well we are a little gun shy about investing a bunch of time into a new platform unless it's worth the investment, if it is we'll go for it. Thanks for sharing any perspectives on these points.

Unfortunately I have never use Fusion 360! I know a bit about Solidworks and Rhino! I used to design a flower in Blender, Put that design to Rhino to work a little bit, then put to FreeCAD for logo.... In the background, I combine multiple tools I have together, my main goal is the job done. I love every tool, I use everything. I know each tool have their own weak and strong point. I made tutorials about FreeCAD but The program I use the most is Blender for rigging.

@@DuyQuangDang I see. Well so far FreeCAD seems pretty good. One area though is projecting geometry. In Fusion, there are a lot of ways to conveniently project existing geometry onto new sketches which seems limited in FreeCAD. Another is 3D sketches, which is possible in Fusion, but in FreeCAD it seems one has to make multiple planar sketches. These aren't show stoppers but so far for me it slows me down. There are probably some workarounds I need to learn about. Thank you for your comment and your content, it is very good.

Btw can you make the flow to the target surfaces be G2? For a circular object g1 across the mirror plane is sufficient
@DuyQuangDang2 ай бұрын
It's possible for G2 in that area. Change points on curve to 60 and max segments to 20. But it's not good enough compare to G1. For better results we need more works.

Darn my FreeCad crashes with the patch tool public and 1.0 release candidate

Working fine both in RC2 and 0.21.2 stable here. Don't know exactly what step you missed.
