DV Lottery Greencard DV2024 winners may want to understand why the visa bulletin is moving as it is. Using Africa as an example, I show the concepts that control the movement of the Visa Bulletin.
Note: the model shown in this video is over simplified, and therefore inaccurate. The density decreases by number range, but we will only know those ranges when we see the CEAC data. So I would not use this model for predictions, but would rely on a more complex model that treats the density drops as ranges. I may show that model once we get the data.

They select the embassy based on where you live - so to move embassies you would have to move.

Hi Simon just would like to know what happens if in the process of adding a dependant in the ds 260 form you erroneously add the same name twice

You can edit a single DS260 (say yours where you listed a name twice), but if you have instead created an extra DS260 that cannot be removed. So you simply leave the extra DS260 unlocked.

No - you can complete the DS260 for the child using the passport number of one of the parents.

Thank you for this video. It really helps us understand the process and what to expect. I have a question please, If the winners name in the passport has an extra letter in the surname that the father doesn't have in his surname in his passport. So the winner's birth certificate has this letter in their surname, and in the name in personal information in the ds 260 , and in the passport. But in the family information in the ds 260, the fathers name entered is like his passport without the extra letter in the surname. Is that a problem? I figured the fathers name in the family information should be identical to his passport and not the winners passport so typed it without the extra letter. I hope that makes sense.Was that the correct way of thinking?

You replied in the live bit I wanted to clarify that the primary winner (daughter) name is accurate in ds260 like the passport and birth certificate. But her dad which is only included on the family info of the ds260 has 1 less letter in his surname (like in his passport) than the surname of the daughter ( primary winner). Is that an issue?

I made visa bullet.8500 means visas.inside 42876 there are holes than cases.u know greencard selection process going 2 pattern.one is highcases like this year.another way way is like last year.next 2025 dv winners hc number asia will be 26000 not than that.next comming visa bulletin may be 8000.another thing dear sir in this year i think they will current all cases after 27000 and according to ds submit date they will give visa.because highcase number need to have a chance.im appreciate you but that is my prediction sir.last visa bulletin will come between march 8 to 15 .

Based on your prediction, l might just go current coz my case range is 85k from Sierra Leone by September… 1. My wife is giving birth this week. Should I add the baby to my DS260 and request for unlock ? Would that not impact on the processing of my DS260 in terms of interview scheduling? 2. My Son is over 21 but at the time of entry he was under 21. I checked the link you referred me to and based the formula , he would have been aged-out by the time my case becomes current ( possibly) . Should I unlock his ds260 and indicate that he will not be traveling with me to the US? Secondly, is he supposed to attend the interview or do medical ?
