ΔV: Rings of Saturn (Delta V) is the new game we are looking at today with an Overview/Review of what it is and how its gameplay plays. First we will review the need to know basics of ΔV: Rings of Saturn (Delta V) before jumping into deeper gameplay impressions. A physics-based mining sim, set in the thickest debris field in Sol. Every action has a reaction, lasers are invisible without a medium, and your thrust is a potent weapon. Find trade, adapt your equipment to your playstyle, hire a crew to help. Unravel the mysteries of the rings, or just get rich.

Since you are using a coilgun for mining it is imparting a lot of energy to whatever it is you are mining, resulting in mined chunks catapulting into space. In the "Tuning" section of your docking operations you can fine tune your gear to assist in this, lower coilgun energy values make it more suitable for mining, higher values are more applicable to self defense.

Using autopilot uses more fuel and will increase wear and tear on parts, best to use your torch as much as possible even mine with it. You want to try and glide through space and minimize using your thrusters as much as you can.

If gear adjustment exceeds power production, that is normal, unless you are running some super high end turbine in your ship. This means firing the equipment will use your capacitor charge as your turbine alone can not handle the power draw, the capacitor is basically your battery power, self charges when you have excess power on board, like when you are NOT firing gear and thrusters constantly. This only means you can not use the gear all the time, as your autopilot will run out of juice until your turbines catch up. Exceeding thermal production is more applicable to thrusters, as most thruster kits use the thermal energy of your reactor for propulsion, if you run out of thermal energy in the reactor core, your thrusters will basically just be pissing in the wind, giving little to no thrust at all. Thermal weapons will suffer similarly, emitting less energy. Upgrading the turbine or the reactor core will allow for greater control of both, but this is an expensive undertaking. Alternatively you can fine tune the systems of both to allow for greater optimal reactor temperatures. A hotter reactor means more thermal energy and greater power gains, but be careful, running the reactor hotter means there is less room for failure, if the reactor overloads and you can not vent the heat with your thrusters properly... Well, the reactor can go supercritical, taking your entire ship with it.

Some things to note from what I recall since the last time I played: Being close to other ships is a bad thing as their thrusters can cook your systems really badly (likely what happened to your mass driver barrel) and a burnt out CPU is just no fun at all; the more minerals you take on, the heavier you are so the harder it is to maneuver making you spend more and more fuel to maneuver; you are rewarded (and sometimes punished) for exploring depending on what you find, but habitats will help immensely; the self contained smelters for the ship are incredibly useful as they can yield you more fuel and allow you to carry more (comes into play with additional benefits with habitats for making really good cash); astrogaters allow you warp to points of interest that will be unlocked as you explore, which can be incredibly useful for multiple reasons (more fun to let players explore those reasons than just up and say them though); time passes in the top left of your screen at Enceledus Station, when you use a hotel it passed the time that showed under the cost (I personally haven't found a use for it yet beyond 'giving' your characters R&R). All this is just stuff I picked up from playing and while I do love the complexity of the systems, I've still yet to find a big reason to go past the starting ship, as in a good configuration and mining with enough time, I can come home with hundreds of thousands. I suppose there is certainly more for me to explore now though.

If your crew are unhappy then they wont perform in there job role too well, hotels raise moral of crew so they perform to there skill level.
