I always wondered about the losing competitors for the JLTV tender, can't they sell their vehicles in the market even though they lost. BAE should sell the Valanx and AM General should sell the B-RVO

Why is everyones doctrine so light nowadays?
@matovicmmilan6 жыл бұрын
I think it is so because they are engaged in what they refer to as "low-intensity" warfare for too long!
@jonny29546 жыл бұрын
Thought so too, since the ukraine crisis many nations announced that they'll return to a heavier and more conventional doctrine, but only few really do, most they keep buying this crap instead of proper APCs and IFVs.
@Dimetropteryx6 жыл бұрын
Because people have forgotten about war, which is pretty damn evident by the fact that they refer to low intensity conflicts as such.

@SirAnderw6 жыл бұрын
@@thatdutchguy2882 Really? Let's start with the engine. The old Humvees used a 6.2 na 150hp or 6.5 turbo 190 hp gm diesel engine. Not only are the extremely underpowered and have a top speed of 55mph, they are also notoriously unreliable. I daily drive a chevy dually with the 6.5 engine, its shit. Next protection, the Humvees were badly armored so many were fitted with even more armor and were called up-armoured Humvees. This additional armour is heavy and decreased the payload and made the underpowered humvee even slower. Also the lack of any sort of shaped hull meant a explosion underneath the vehicle was almost always deadly. And last of all they are rougher than hell to ride in. A Oskosh jtlv uses a L5P 6.6 duramax engine. The duramax engine is already far superior but all of the engines are modified by Banks Power and are turned down to 400hp to increase reliability. They also get fitted with other heavy duty components. The armor is far better and it has a v shaped hull. As the Humvees could be up armoured, so can a jtlv with the b-kit they can get MRAP levels of protection.The jtlv also has a far superior suspension giving it a smoother ride. The suspension was designed and tested on the baja 1000. In testing done by the military a jtlv could go 7000 miles without a mission stopping break down. A humvee could only manage 3000 miles. So 30 years better design and over double the power and reliability. Not to mention that Oshkosh has had great success with the matv is the warzones already.
