Gotta respect the fact this man does 90%of the work himself and if he don’t know how to do it he learns by trial and error , you got other KZbinrs having other people assembling their WHOLE build and they sit back and record smh

Not sure if i missed it, but it didnt look like you put any hondabond on the high pressure pump base. The base is the part that bolts to the head and high pressure pump bolts to it. Also, the fuel joint pipe that runs from the high pressure pump to the rail is a one time use item. The new pipe should come with polyethylene glycol that should be used. Not using a new joint pipe can cause fuel leaks right away or over time. Honda tech of 10yrs. Keep up the good work!!

With the number of engines I’ve watched him rebuild in just a few months I’d think he would get a port and polishing setup and a valve cutter. Cars run so much better on a properly ported head it would seem to be worth the time and effort, though when you can just turn the boost up a few more pounds I’m guessing it just doesn’t matter as much as a head the breaths properly. So much work into this car, and isn’t this the first Honda he’s built? It’s going to be a “ripper”.

Awesome work Devin. So between the last episode and this one, nothing had to be rebuilt about the short block or cylinder head? It just being off alignment with the dowels, it was just repurposing most of it? I wish the best man, its just like for something like this if it went this far then I would think almost everything should have been either measured again or inspected. Cross fingers. Overall I think it will run but did you want to really 100% rebuild it or get it just running. Idk, I guess even I have had so much stuff in the past that should have just been deep dived into versus, get back to running condition.

When the new cylinder head bolt is installed 5. Apply new engine oil to the threads and under the bolt heads of all cylinder head bolts. 6. Torque the cylinder head bolts in sequence to 40 N·m (4.1 kgf·m, 30 lbf·ft). Use a beam-type torque wrench. When using a preset click-type torque wrench, be sure to tighten slowly and do not overtighten. If a bolt makes any noise while you are torquing it, loosen the bolt and go back to step 5. 7. After torquing, tighten all cylinder head bolts in three steps (90 ° per step) in the numbered sequence shown. NOTE: Remove the cylinder head bolt if you tightened it beyond the specified angle, and go back to step 3 of the procedure. Do not loosen it back to the specified angle. Tighten the cylinder head bolts to the specified angle, using a commercially available angle gauge.

Great job man👍 Also the FK8 facelift and every day I look forward to YT to see if your next video will come out, because it's a really nice spectacle. But I have a question. When you remove the cylinder head, isn't it necessary to level it and perform a twist of the seals? As a rule, it deforms easily. I also wouldn't use the old head screws, the original ones may be stretched. Don't take it the wrong way, I'm just interested in other procedures.
@ihate5x112_2 жыл бұрын
ik he did grab new head bolts and head gasket and dowel alignment pins, not sure if he got the head resurfaced or not though but good point

@@ihate5x112_ I don't know, although I have an auto repair school, but repairing cars has not been my main source of livelihood for a long time. I don't want to insult the author of the video, he has great taste and diligence. I don't deny that and I admit it. But I have learned this procedure. When the aluminum cylinder head is removed, it should be leveled on the lathe, sometimes the same goes for the block. We never used the original screws used to connect the head and the block. I'd like to be wrong, I don't know modern Honda repair procedures.
