Mate, I have been following your uploads for a while! Thank you for making things clear! What I noticed - you should check PAL/NTSC settings in your camera. Recorded footage has a flickering effect. That's due to video shooting environment lightning's electrical main's frequency - use PAL if you have 50Hz or NTSC if you have 60Hz. It all comes down to synchronization. If you synchronize your camera to the electrical frequency of the lighting, you are basically telling your camera to only take pictures of the ON portion of each cycle within the frequency. Cheers!

Thanks for the video. In a design for a multi-dwelling unit of say 20 apartments; is it possible that each apartment has it's own indoor and door station combo...and all 20 indoor stations can also be called from another door station located at the general reception/main entrance?

Having rushed out and bought this kit I was surprised to find that the new key-shaped backlit button at the bottom of the screen only works when the on-screen open/close button is showing - and since a screen tap requires marginally less effort than pushing the key button, what's it there for? I had hoped that I could watch another camera showing my gates and press the key button to see them open or close - which is what I need to do especially in the high winds we've been having. But I can't do that. I have to go to the door station stream, tap the open/close button and then quickly tap 3 or 4 more buttons to see if the gates have opened or closed properly. What an opportunity missed! Or is it me that's missing something?

Thanks for the very informative video, only one problem, I have the relay function enabled in order to ring an additional bell in my home by means of the ivms 4200 software - intercom - call linkage - both triggers enabled - and relays 1 and relay 2 both set to 25 seconds. When the call button on DS- KD8003 IME1 is pressed at my gate, the home station rings fine, but the bell only chimes for one cycle of the bell, and not for the duration of the home station ringing, even though I have it set as above. Can you suggest a solution as there is on info on how to set this up. Best Regards

Great videos mate. I want to get this system for my new house. It is possible for the master unit to trigger and open a driveway sliding gate ? I assume you have to add a relay (matching the 30v/1A) from the intercom before the gate motor board and your good to go. Also can you have a 2nd keypad only on the inside where someone can open the gate to get out? Or do you have to run an exit button?. I wanted a 2nd keypad for our postie who can then drive in using the keypad on the intercom and then to get out use the keypad on the inside etc. I guess I could set the gate to stay open for say 5mins etc but would rather the gate close within 90 seconds. Hi. great video. A question on the 6 button module: If we need only 2 buttons how can I cover the other buttons? I would probably cover the button on the main module and 4 buttons on the 6 button module. Yet, we need a nice button cover to allow this system to be installed in a 2 unit residential building. I hate having to have so many modules to do a task that could be done by incorporating them. Do you know if they will be incorporating the keypad with the NFC reader anytime? I would love to have the option to enter a code or have NFC option without having to go to a 3 module housing :/

Grear Video! the most complete! congratulations! I have a question: i have KD8003 IP and DS-KD-M ( Mifare ) , with 3 indoor station. Before installing I have to set the sub module address via DIP from DS-KD-M ( DIP 1 ON and DIP 2-3-4-5-6-7-8 OFF ) ?? Because when open iVMS 4200 ( vers 3.6) .... in add Card after selecting 8003, I press read ... but it does not read any cards! Do you have to have the monitor or can it solely be run from ivms-4200 and hik-connect? Can you run 2 keypad modules off one video module, if the rs485 cable is long enough? So you could have the video module and a keypad on the outside of a gate, and a keypad on the inside (drive side) ? Daft question, I know you can open a door/gate with this but can you buzz the relay to close the door/gate?

Firstly - great videos, very insightful! I am trying to get my IP Camera linked to the Indoor station, same as what you showed around the 25 minute mark. It keeps coming up saying that resolution not supported - I have set the substream on the camera to 640 x 360, but that hasn't helped. Can you suggest what settings the camera needs to be on to make the live view on the indoor station work? I have a 4K 8mp camera, and even changing all the settings on the main stream didn't fix the issue. Cheers!

We have just incorporated your MASTER STATION DS-KM8301 (DS-KM8301) with the video intercom DS-KD8003-IME1 / SURFACE / EU. At the moment I have only installed 2, but the idea was to replace all the intercom we have. But we run into the following problem. In the test that has been carried out they work correctly, but if the call is made with the video intercom 1 if someone presses the video intercom 2 it communicates. The Master station can be programmed so that the second call is on hold and not communicating. Ideally, when hanging up call 1, enter 2 (which is how it currently works and not communicating). In the case of incorporating more video door entry systems, would the same happen or can the calls that are made while answering the first one be placed on hold?

Thanks a lot for an amazing review/guide! The 2nd gen. intercom looks amazing however I have a question related to the "keypad" module. Unfortunately the settings of the keypad was skipped in the video but I'd like to ask if it is possible to have individual PIN codes for multiple residents? Lets say we have a building with 20 residents and everyone has its own office - is it possible every resident has also its own unique access PIN code that would be used for opening the door? Or we are limited to just 3 groups of PIN codes (public 1/2/3) as it was stated in the video? Thank you in advance for your reply!

Great video. I set up a single house door unit. The door station I notice on the gen 2 unit has a very small white LED light next to the push to call button. yes you can add it to the NVR as IP camera for motion of continuous recording as long as both devices are on same network

Thank you , actually the very latest 2nd Gen intercom firmware if you update this then we cannot be compatible with Gen1 units , so we need to make sure we don’t update and mix and match , previous to the latest firmware Gen1 & Gen2 are compatible

Hi Team, thanks for the comprehensive guide. I hope you can guide me on a current problem that I encountered. I’ve connected the Com & NC1 from the outdoor module to my electric gate. When I press the unlock button on the indoor station, there is a delay of around 30 seconds before the gate opens or closes. What could be the problem here? Ideally, I would like to open the gate immediately after I press the unlock button. Thanks very much for your help.

hello!!; I have a problem with a setup that I did. I have 4x KH-6320-WTE1, 3 of which are set as extensions and 2x DS-KD8003-IME1, one is set up as second gate installed. this system works perfectly for about 2-3 weeks then all the extensions will fail to authenticate, error reads: Authentication failed. Make sure the user name and password are correct. please help, i have tried to update the software but it will happen again after the 2-3 week period

Hi Dave I have seen that new stuff like DS-KV6113-WPE1 has SIP configuration. Do you know if it works like any other SIP extension? If it does, do you know if it works simultaneously with hikconnect?

to be honest the SIP is limited in my opinion with only some tested units and it’s something we don’t actively support, we are trying to get more SIP devices supported currently and I will do some testing moving forward

Is it possible for you to make a configuration youtube how to video of two DS-KD8003-IME1 and three indoor stations, for example 3 pcs of DS-KH8520-WTE1. Where you confgure a few external IP Cameras via an NVR recorder. So that it also works with Hik-connect app for the two DS-KD8003-IME1 both internal camera's, 02 to 3 external ip camera's (via NVR) and a Hikvision: Face Mask Detection & Temperature Screening Terminal for door enterance? and DS-K1107MK KeyPanel MiFi CardReader as an exit to open as exit the KD8003-IME1 eletronic lock. Hi, I liked your review so much that I bought it for my home. I found the Hikvision server/port forwarding through iOS app not very consistent. Sometimes it connects, sometimes it doesn’t. My 4g plan and home internet are quite fast. Majority of calls do not go through at all. I wanted to bypass Hikvision server and Doing the port-forwarding my self to see if it improves the connection (I’m confident it will). The problem is that when I am at home and I add the outdoor and indoor station in the app by IP address following happens: -outdoor station video goes super fast but there is no icon to open de door. The app only sees a regular camera. -indoor station does not show any video from the cameras linked to it (reports an error) and of course the lock icon doesn’t show. This doesn’t give me the chance to operate the door or answer any calls by adding the system through IP address, so it forces me to use hikvision laggy server. Any advice? Hi there and thanks for getting in touch , do you know the firmware of the devices as its improved actually , but for this to work it needs to go via HIK-Connect , actually mine and many others go through 4 networks and 2 firewalls with the P2P connection and it works very well , so it shouldn’t be laggy. Have you tried putting 8.8.8.8 as the preferred DNS in the network settings of the indoor station and is that hard connected or on Wi-Fi connection? Happy to help where I can buddy 😊

Is it possible to programme a TRADE button with the HikVision IP Intercom system? For example a delivery person or the postman can press a TRADE button between a programmed times (eg 8am - 6pm Mon-Fri, 10-4 on Weekends) and the gates will open. Outside these times the video intercom would be required.

Perfect, was waiting for this one. Very little information out there for the Gen 2 and especially for the LCD module. Typically, installer manual is very sparse and the guides are, well lost in translation. A few queries: - 1. Can you use compatible fobs in place of a cards? I presume yes. 2. Can you use the encrypted portion of the card? 3. As a workaround to the risk of using the outputs to open a door, could you use the Hikvision RS-485 to trigger open doors? I think you missed out viewing cams via the intercom stations but well done for being first to get a decent review out on this kit.

it has relay outputs that can be wired in presuming there is a gate open input on that system, if you want a ISAPI integration then that would require speaking to HIK direct to initiate the conversation

You can make the indoor station trigger a relay on call action , which then you could power a chime or sounder , but you need to use that relay from the indoor station

Hi, this is a great video. Do you know if it's possible to get a door read (open or closed) in the Hik-Connect app? We get door reads in the IVMS software but not Hik-Connect. It's important to know if the door lock (a v-lock) has definitely triggered and secured the front door when you're not onsite.

Hi and thanks for the questions, so the 4200 only needs to be used for configuration unless you want to use it to be called or make calls and send messages , but its not “essential “ you can programme most functions from the indoor station Wizard also , regards the indoor station then yes this part is required for connection to the HIK-Connect App , so please use this. Regards the URL stream , could you not download the HIK-Connect app on that android device and then sign into the account so you can see the images and receive calls? , that is the easiest way unless you have a specific reason you can tell me and I can advise. Hope this helps 😊

The reason why i want to use a URL Stream is because i am running an iOBroker Server at home and have an Visualization App called "Vis" to display my Smart home at the Android Tablet. The URL Stream i can add to the Visualization App, so i dont need to switch between the Apps when someone is calling me. Would be nice if you can help me with an solution.

the doorbell doesn’t work to the indoor station or the EZviz model , we have a vandal proof doorbell that can be added , the cameras adding I can do at some point

@@DVSLTD Thanks very much, i have the KB6003-WIP as well as the KD-8003 door station and the KH6320 indoor panel, was hoping to be able to receive calls from both the door station and the doorbell, but i cant get 2-way audio on the KB6003 or for it to ring the indoor terminal - streaming the camera feed works fine.

So you need the stations (tablet screens) to get video/audio/door release in your mobile? Since hik- connect doesn't work with the door station directly? That's annoying if so. I get the idea behind it but in a business I have no use for a stationary screen. I need to be able to notify a bunch of users at their desk phones (via SIP), to a SIP client running in Android, and then ideally when they are off-site via a mobile app like axis connect can do. That way I don't have to setup a whole bunch of stuff for secure SIP over the WAN. I'd also really like to see the SIP capabilities of this device. I'd recommend setting up a sip server like freepbx for testing.

Hi , and thanks for the feedback , yes currently it’s the internal screen that talks to HIK-Connect, whilst we can use SIP , it’s harder to support due to all the different ones deployed and versions, I will of course try to make something and publish it , thank you again 😊

@@DVSLTD So you could only buy the camera module and SIP call to a tablet or phone? Thus not needing the hikvision tablet? I would like to use a standard tablet that also shows my smart home controls. I don't need unlock function. Or maybe IVMS software on a raspberri pi with touchscreen and use that. If i'm not mistaken, this can also make a connection with Hik connect app on phone? If that's not possible, can u use the hikvision touch screen to use as a browser? In either case I avoid having to use two tablets.

Hi Christian , yes you can turn the outdoor station “ringing” sound off , using IVMS-4200 and remote configuration you can go to intercom and sounds , and turn to 0 the output level , hope this helps

Hi Dave great video! One question in regard to the mifare card reader, I enabled it and it works fine. Only thing is if I set time parameters via IVMS it disregards them, so even when the card should not be active it is working. Any idea how to solve this? Thanks!

@@DVSLTD What i've done is create an access group dayworkers and the person is added in this group. This group is assigned a template called dayworkers where I've set their work schedule hours. The have access to both the main door whith the mifare card reader as do they have access to another internal door with a Hikvision face recognition terminal. The schedule seems to work fine for the face recognition terminal but not for the door station?

Hi , some modules do have backlight and should come on when dark , if not please update the units to latest firmware , add to latest 4200 and the under remote configuration and device management add the device and use remote configuration, from there you can see sub modules and adjust some functions per module, you can also go to the video sub menu and adjust sensitivity of the day / night switch which will then turn back lights on, to call outdoor station from indoor simply go to device and indoor station and press it , it can make the call,

Hello, How can I use the PIN Code (Access Control > Person > Edit Person > Access Control > Pin Code) to open the door please? The Access Group is assigned properly (because the RFID cards work properly), but it's not possible to open the door with this PIN Code (on top of the 3 "Public Passwords" and just 1 "Unlocking Password" of each monitor). Thank you

Correct the PIN associated with the person doesn’t work , it’s just the public ones and the indoor station ones, the new firmware ( video out today ) shows the setup actually and it also has 16 public passcodes now

@@DVSLTD Thank you for the information. 16 Public Passwords + 1 PW per monitor would be already a big improvement, hopfully the passwords can also exceed 6 digits. Let's hope that Hikvision also enables the PIN as access code for each user. That would be, what I expect from such a powerful intecom system, because the RFID card PLUS password per user would be extremely much better to handle, having freqently changing visiors or guests.

Hi , a lot of modular ones look similar now , lcd is touch screen yes, and no Bluetooth currently. We have a mifare prox module , it doesn’t have Wigand card output
