Man, I don't care if they "look vintage" or were copped from somebody else's gear or what - it's about damn time somebody realized that you don't need double-braced, bullet-proof, 50-lb. stands to play drums! I started playing about 35 years ago using Ludwig's lightweight series stands and I NEVER knocked one over while playing or had any other issues that made me say, "Gee, I wish somebody would make some stands that weigh 5 times as much as my stands so I can haul more weight around!" No! I don't know why I didn't know about these sooner - I guess I just haven't been looking for more excuses to spend money - but I think I'll replace my entire set of hardware with DW 6000 stands! Those will be perfect - and they're slightly nicer looking than the true vintage stuff I started out playing. These will eliminate the need to drag a whole separate - and very heavy - stand case to every gig. Finally I'll be able to put all my cymbals stands and other hardware in my trap case. Hallelujah!!!

You won't regret it. They are fantastic for every kind of musical setting.

Pretty Much!!! I need something like that to have my drums look so old-school. You don't have to be a jazz drummer you can be a blues drummer or a classic rock drummer or whatever. It does look so awesome and it's about freaking time to bring back the vintage look.

Would hanging a 10 inch tom on the stand be a problem?

Why don't you guys make a canister throne? that would be icing on the cake in the vintage hardware category!
@tmaddrummer7 жыл бұрын
I recently saw one at Donn Bennet's Drum Shop and it looks great and it is adjustable! Too bad for me and my bad back, so no canister throne..... I'd love to have one though!!!

The snare stands extend up to 25" high? Is taken from the basket? Or the actual tube extension? Because I sit high in the saddle,, and I have a 24" kick drum so I want to mount a 13" Tom on it so it needs to get up over the this kick?CheersDarran

Could you hang a rims mounted tom off the straight cymbal stand?
@dwdrums9 жыл бұрын
You would need a Tom bracket attached. You would also have to worry about weight, etc.

+Offshore Office I mount a 12x8 ludwig vistalite tom on a straight stand. It doesn't move.

Let's be clear-a guy endorsed by DW drums isn't going to say anything bad about their hardware in a DW ad.
@DanielGlassDrums5 жыл бұрын
A. It's a demo, not an ad. It's showing you all the features of the hardware, which are numerous and extremely well designed. B. I endorse DW drums because I love and believe in the product, so what I'm saying is sincere for that reason. I've used the product for many years, so I'm speaking from experience, not just as some kind of "paid spokesperson" (I was not paid for being involved with this project). C. Thanks, and have a great day.

@@DanielGlassDrums hi dude, I'm interested in the splash stand you have (attached to the far side of the bass drum), is that a DW item?
@DanielGlassDrums5 жыл бұрын
@@JonnyJayJonson - hey, nice to hear from you. The cymbal is mounted on the BD shell via a bracket and L-arm. DW makes two options: DWsm770 (standard): www.dwdrums.com/factoryaccessories/fa.asp?sKITNAME=dwsm770 DWsm770s (shorter): www.dwdrums.com/factoryaccessories/fa.asp?sKITNAME=dwsm770S

Are they tough??
@DanielGlassDrums5 жыл бұрын
Extremely tough - more so than any other lightweight hardware. I took a full line of 6000 hardware on the road with Royal Crown Revue, as well as the Brian Setzer Orchestra for 7-week tours, etc. Nothing ever stripped. The only issue was I needed sand bags to hold down the stands because I was hitting the cymbals pretty hard and it was causing the stands to creep a bit. If you're using the cymbals in a normal club-type situation, you'll be fine. EVERYTHING DW makes is of the highest quality, PERIOD.
