In Northern Cyprus, a booming industry in higher education has lured many African students with the chance to work in Europe. Unfortunately, many of these students become saddled with debt and left vulnerable to loan sharks and human traffickers. In our street debate, Michael Oti sheds light on what it takes to get a degree from a country that isn’t universally recognized.

Why don't you inform the people that Northern Cyprus is only recognised by Turkey and not the rest of the world

The point is that in a fake so called TRNC place, which is an occupied territory of the Republic Of Cyprus (a regognised country of UN and member of European Community), everything is fake. No other country than Turkey (which is the invator) regognise it. Actually is a ghost country, non existing, military Zone with 300.000 inhabitants and 60.000 Turkish soldiers. Dear Africans just think and learn about it when you decide to go there. Don't you find it peculiar when you are said that you can travel to a European country without visa just by registering in a collage?

How is it possible that DW allows this documentary?? The Reporter doesn’t know about the things that happened in Cyprus neither does he know that the north part is illegally occupied.

DW was impartial with their edited video. There are wave of crimes carried out by most Africans out on this Island but they chose to sidelined it making this report not totally factual.

That is a fatal lie. Most African students...... How could you say that? People like you are the problems we have in TRNC. This country is a hell of trap zone for African students. Most of them been brought there not knowing where the heck they are heading to. With all that a lot of students struggles there for a lot of years trying to accomplish their studies. Which leads a lot of students doing all sort of jobs on the Island. That been said I acknowledge the fact that a few minorities have been involved in criminal activities such as internet scamming. But that is mainly because TRNC is a coded zone.

The most discriminated minority is likely to be represented more in low rank crime networks. This has been always so in world history.
