Irwin (under the Stanley Black and Decker Umbrella) makes a deeper version of this medium toughcase+ that is compatible (interlocks) with the dewalt toughcase +/tstak systems and craftsman versastak. They make a kit with speedbor and spade bits for those just starting out or those of us that want a deeper case. Where do you get the bit holders themselves? I have Milwaukee bits and I can't stand the holders for them, the bits get held like they're in a visegrip. Damn near end up with cuts trying to get drill bits out... and the little 1" bits, you can't get a hold of them to pull them out - end up having to use needle nose pliers. (Can you tell I'm getting annoyed even thinking about it? LOL) So these Dewalt boxes look great, but I don't have any of the bit holders that go in it.

The bit and drill holders came from my many other Dewalt bit cases and stuff like that. I probably have 20-25 of them. It’s an addiction thing. The ones I used in that came from there. Now I have seen guys 3D print stuff that will fit in between the lugs with the right pattern. There are a few things I think on Thingiverse. You can also have local and online companies 3D print things for you. I am looking at this option for my needs and am almost ready to get a Prusa 3D printer. If you do print or get things printed for inserting bits/drills you would want it to be flexible so TPU would likely be optimal. I hope that helps.

Two sources at this time…. 1) Scavenge from other or older Dewalt cases (the all seem universal) 2) 3D printed models are available on Thingiverse and other 3D printing sights.

I got them from all my older non-tough case drill/driver kits. I look for them on sale/clear out and then sell off the driver bits or just give them away.
