Great demo of all the cases and how they can “interact” with each other. I’m a sucker for the variety of these cases as well 😬.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! for the past two weeks i have been pondering and searching for a way to propperly store my cable ferrules inside my dewalt toughsystem drawers/setup. my demands where that it needed to be shallow, prevent ferrules jumping into other containers and if possible fit inside the 3 drawer box or able to connect to it. and your briljant idea to use the small bit boxes for small parts storage is perfect for it. i can store them in a drawer inside the tstak compatible case for keeping together and organized but if i only need one tiny ferrul case i can just pick the one I need and walk to my table or place where i work. this video really helped me solve this problem. so many thanks.

Fantastic review. I love that you're answering the hard questions: "If they're closed together, they don't stack so nice" and "they stack and nestle nicely together when the latches aren't closed." Which seems to me like a mess waiting to happen "Again bit of a flaw there." I so appreciate that directness. Nice deep dive into the system(s) and got me interested in both the Dewalt stuff and your channel. I got to looking at the Dewalt TSTAK when I noticed that the Craftsman VersaStack, the Stanly Prostack, Dewalt TSTAK, and even the Harbor Freight "Bauer" Modular storage bins and boxes are all compatible. Knowing the little organizer boxes add to that mix is going to get me shopping. When I get the chance I'll add some customization via 3D printing some inserts.

Great overview! I think the half-size case that has mounting points on both the case AND the lid is really good, because when open, it's almost as big as the full-size case. I think having a variety of storage systems is good, because sometimes you need larger, sometimes you need lighter, etc. Variety is the spice of life!

DeWALT is literally like the best brand when it comes to this stuff. They have the best organizers. Good quality, and are affordable. Better than any other band I have tried.

Great illustration! Just wanted to say that the holders are held in the case with the dovetail pins. These can be stored on the underside of the clear case. Thus it increases the capability of the amount of drivers that can store in the case.

I think the benefit of these kinds of systems is a minor amount of convenience in a pinch that over time amounts to actual time savings. Doesn't mean people aren't getting anything useful if they're not making a tower, I would guess as a designer myself that they're not realistically meant for that. I snap a couple of the smaller Toughcase cases together and throw them in my larger Toughsystem boxes. It keeps them grouped and easy to grab. It's more organized this way. So many options.
@mbwoodbutcher

Exactly. It’s about keeping organized and efficient. Spending time searching through unorganized cases wastes time. That is why the clear lids are awesome!

FYI you can put holders in the lids of tough cases also :) I like putting the short angled ones up there. Good job thanks !

Great overview... and I love the idea of the ToughCases... BUT what I can't seem to find is the One Case to Hold Them All! I haven't seen ANY tool-boxes or bags that are designed to neatly store these cases, and I have a round dozen of them. The closest I've come is an Aftermarket (different branded) "battery holder" with adjustable interior compartments that MIGHT work. Dewalt (and some others) make these wonderful carry-bags with pockets... but the pockets don't look big enough for the ToughCases to fit in. I'd just like something I can keep my bit-cases (and maybe my drill/driver?) in where I don't have to rummage. Maybe a dedicated drawer for their Tstak system? Please? I can't believe nobody else has thought of this. 🤔

Thank you for taking the time to demonstrate and explain these. Over the years I've used Bosch 'Pick and Click' boxes. Like you've found with these DeWalts - the clear lid versions have the advantage that you can quickly see the contents although my most-used version isn't clear as with the Bosch you can't attach things to the inside of the clear lids. Thinking about the inconvenience of clipping and unclipping and reclipping to access nested boxes, especially on a job when you're just needing to grab something (and return it to where is belongs) whilst you're working... Have you considered the Stanley Pro-Stack FMMT98107-1 3-Drawer toolkit (a black & yellow version of the black & red Craftsman VersaStack)? I wish this 3-drawer case was offered empty so I could load it out with what I want, how I want!

That is a cool kit! $600+ after tax here in Canada…. Yikes! Maybe if Canadian Tire has it on 1/2 off one day. I agree that would be awesome if it was an empty case!

I have since ran into a mainline 18v 1/2 Dr dill and 1/4 inch impact Dr 2.0cs ah battery combo kit Milwaukee home Depot $110 couldn't pass it up haven't used it at all yet, and I have since bought a compatible flex head flashlight from a Milwaukee distributor that sells used and reconditioned Milwaukee tools on eBay and through the website, the flashlight is used tool only but they polished the lense and sold it to me $35 shipped and the other set of bits are a small set i had to pick up for the torx bits when I first realized all of mine were gone along with over 65 percent of my mechanic tools ive been replacing over the last 3-4 years...i unfortunately have huge sets of craftsman 80's v series 3/8 and 1/2 inch sockets usa made big money stuff now so it didn't get replaced with them, and the g1 and g2 USA made 165 pc mechanic tool set they left me the case grrrrr

I need to eventually buy some of the bits and better drill bits than the $20 warrior drill bits i had someone who will remain namless permanently borrow my 14volt 1/2 craftsman drill, and the DeWalt, craftsman, and bosch drill bits and accessories i had by it and what was in the case

I think my $20 warrior drill bits are cobalt bits harbor freight and the drill i replaced my craftsman with is the first version 1.5ah Bauer 1/2 inch drill driver before the release of the brushless line of their tools and i bought a 1/2 inch Dr impact gun at the same time, and then my momma gave me a 1/4 inch Dr DeWalt d787 impact driver i said i will have to buy bits i have the harbor freight $20 drill bits set and the DeWalt bit holder i bought the replace the one i had this one is impact rated and the 8 inch long i think no 2 USA made craftsman 2 drill driver bits that were in the craftsman drill case

What are the model numbers? Where can you get them from? How much do they cost?
@mbwoodbutcher
@mbwoodbutcher Жыл бұрын
I have collected them over a number of years. Some can be had on Amazon, some are better acquired from local stores. Prices vary depending on where you live. For pricing in Canada check out squares hardware and Mississauga hardware. Those are the two I order from the most. Also your local Amazon site will have many of them but beware as they can be more expensive on Amazon.

@@mbwoodbutcher Thank you! I appreciate your reply! I actually have five ToughCase+ inventory models like you do, and I agree with you that the concept works well. At 7:00, you asked people not to message you asking for model numbers, where to get them, and how much they are - I was just asking this question to jerk your chain. :-)
