I rock and roll with the tough system and DS carrier. Can't imagine being without those boxes and all the storage I get with those. The DS carrier allows me to grab just the box I want and not have to un bury the box I want with the tool I want. Plus it doubles as a hand truck. So versatile and easily transported around the jobsite

I bought my first versastack set yesterday. The double drawer and the medium box. I like them better than systainers and they’re 1/3 the price. I think I’ll be selling my systainers and going tstak/versastack. Good idea with moding the clear. I wouldn’t have thought of that

And unlike the Tstak tool boxes there's a bit more space inside the organizer boxes, no top handle means the top handle does not steal space from the inside of the box.

They updated the clear lid box, its even more low profile now. No more insert.

Great video. Unfortunately, this doesn't work any more. The new clear need organizer is about 1 inch shorter (depth), so storing tools are that much harder. It sill has the same part number DWST17805. But, the price is increased.

If you leave that tray in the battery’s do stand end on inside them cut outs in the bottom.

Just curious... will the tray insert you removed from the clear top, fit/lock into the all black case? I ask, because it looks like the side wall "tabs" inside the black case, are in the same place as the clear top.

TLDR; Since it seems you get a lot of gear, have you checked the new version out? (yours is a version VI, the new is a V 7) Thanks! It looks like they have a new version of the clear top case. The one you have looks like a VI... They now have V7. At the Amazon link, they are in back order for months.. Probably because the exact model is discontinued. If you go to the Home Depot link, in one of the product ads, you can find the new one, and the exact name of the product is: "DEWALTTSTAK V 7 in. Stackable 9-Compartment Small Parts & Tool Storage Organizer." Have checked the new one out? The tray system looks a bit different.. Maybe there isn't the under tray and the yellow bins go into grooves in the bottom of the biz or something.. I wanted to get this case, but since there are no videos or clear pictures of the guts etc, it's a little risky to order. Plus the black top one is only $20 on Amazon, vs this one at $30. Furthermore, if it has no tray, it might be shallower... And without knowing the depth, I'm uncertain my drills/chargers etc would fit in it with kaizen foam or something. Since it seems you get a lot of gear, have you checked the new version out? Thanks!

I got the deep stack dewalt organiser on offer with another box. Can't stand it I think those little grooves in the bottom are just a waste of space instead I just use the regular tstack organizers
