I really liked this battle report. It felt to me like an old-school White Dwarf battle report, from the early 00's where GW just liked showing off as many different models and put together fun lists. This made me subscribe to this channel. Keep up the good work!

Nothing beats Skaven v Dwarfs ( v Night Goblins ).

If you want a fighty king that people don't just avoid, you could try putting him in with a lot of irondrakes or even thunderers/quarrelers spread wide. Reform once in combat or close to combat. Fight him or get shot up all game.

When the Gyrocopter was charged there was no need to wheel the Stormvermins. Just moving straight forward would still be the closest way to engage it. Wheeling against skirmishers are optional. Skirmishers allign with the charging units so are not very good at redirecting attacks, the Gyrocopter is a skirmishing model.
@MountainMiniaturesАй бұрын
@@MrCABman1972 you are unfortunately incorrect here. nothing when charging is optional. You still have to follow the charge rules when a charging skirmishers. The Skirmishers just add a lot to the rules when charging them. You still MUST move the closest possible distance and get as many of your minis in base to base before the Skirmishers close the door to you. So yes, Skirmishers still redirect units when placed well.

@@MountainMiniatures The rules qouted here "When a formed unit of any type (be it Close Order, Open Order and so on) charges a unit of Skirmishers, it must endeavour to move as directly as possible into contact with the closest visible model in the target unit. As usual, the charging unit may wheel once, at any point" That means you move the unit straigh forward and you "MAY" wheel if nessesary to contact them. But moving straight forward will allways be the quickest way to reach them unless they are on the side of the unit charging but then you don't need to bother as you can just charge past them against anothet unit. Once contact is made that line up to you. The rule above completely break the... must contact as many models as possible. It specifically state you must contact the closest model as quickly as you can. You can't do both, they are mutually exclusive. There are only are a few instances depending on which model are the closest one. But in your case there was only one model so going straight forward is the closest way to contact it.... skirmishers don't have any fronts, flanks or rear so the model facing does not matter. There is nothing to line up the charging unit against. This is pretty clear cut and special for charging skirmishers.
@MountainMiniaturesАй бұрын
@@MrCABman1972 But you are only reading 1 of three relevant section in the rule book. Are you aware that "directly" has rules to follow in the rule book. Read page 92. There are no options on how a charge can end in this game (if its one unit charging one unit) If you follow all the rules, there is only one possible outcome for any possible charge, in any situation. (again if its one unit charging one unit) skirmishers or not.
@MrCABman1972Ай бұрын
@@MountainMiniatures It is always one unit charging another (unless a multi charge that is). Accidental charging is different and can still occur which turn the charge into something else. One specifc rule can break another and that is what happens in this instance. Otherwise they would not have written that rule at all, completely superflous. Skirmishers don't have facings, that can all face in different direction within a unit, it really does not matter at all. Their bases does not have to line up in any way and can be all over the place. This is why you only need to contact the first model after which all the skirmichesr line up with you, no wheeling neccesary in many occasions. The skirmishing rule section also state this to reinforce my point "Once the charging unit has made contact with the target unit, it does not wheel to align. Instead, the Skirmishers must form up against the fighting rank of the charging unit" So you don't need to lign up, just contact the closest model then the skirmishers come to you. Skirmishers have NO frontage for you to align to so contacting the first model IS contacting the most models automatically.
@MrCABman1972Ай бұрын
In addition... in the "Formed Units Charging Skirmishers" section in the diagram the unit only charge the first model when it technically could contact more than one model with one wheel. I really don't like to argue the rules like this to be honest... but I really don't see how maximising conatct with skirmisher makes any sense what so ever. Neither mechanically nor thematically.

Good game! Kinda forgot about the Jezzails there at the end I think, both for the break point as well as maybe taking a few more Dwarfs off the table...

Please change the camera angle. I sadly do not like this side angle pushed by AoS channels. The handheld is key MWG.

How they supposed to film a 3hr livestream with hand helds? Steve can’t even do it for his short form bat reps due to his shoulder and uses the tripod. Be realistic

This isn't MWG this was a 3 hour livestream on mountain miniatures, they still make handcam videos if you want them. The camera angle is perfectly fine and they switch to the overhead camera constantly.
