The comic book reference is an early Marvel Comics Transformers story; in it, a human convinced Optimus and Megatron to fight in a virtual reality game, so as to avoid collateral damage, and Megatron added the stipulation that the loser had to be destroyed; Prime won, but accidentally killed a number of NPCs during the battle's climax, which he states that he never would have done in the real world; he willingly forfeits the match, declares Megatron the winner, and then demands he be killed as penance.... Thankfully, the human had the foresight to save Prime's memories/mind in a backup format....

You can watch Gundam Wing, or if you want an updated version of the Original Gundam series, Watch Gundam SEED. Both of these are available on either Hulu, Crunchyroll, or the Funimation app I believe

The best 'new' Gundam shows you could check out without getting lost on the frackton of backstory are Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans, Gundam 00, and the Gundam Origin movies - they're a prequel/retelling of the old-school story, with up-to-date animation and tech and stuff. Don't need backstory to watch where it all began! That said, if you're gonna watch mecha movies, you could do a lot worse than Rebuild Of Evangelion. Just keep some advil handy, and a blanket to hide under for some bits.

Your talking about base Optimus, not about his numerous transformations and other power ups that put him on or above par to that of Unicron and Primus. I'm not sure even the top Gundam's could compete with Optimus at that point. Also note in one continuity Optimus was basically a god/archangel, being one of the Primes.

Giant Robots in anime tend to fall into two main genres: Super Robots and Real Robots. Super Robots are more fantastic, with stuff like eye beams and rocket punches, while Real Robots are usually military and police hardware. It's basically the difference between The Avengers and Call of Duty. Mobile Suit Gudnam isn't the first Giant Robot anime, but it was the first Real Robot anime.

I've been thinking of getting into one of the gundams, I saw Gundam wing when I was like 12 and I saw I think g Gundam? Which, in comparison, is lame... But after doing some research I picked one of the ms team series because it's supposed to be a really good one that you don't need to watch any other ones to understand fully and it's more adult than probly half the Gundam series, cuz you might notice that Gundam has some series that are really kiddy and others that are definitely not.

Guys i have some bad news about telltale games. They are finished and have fired 250 employees and have canceled any future games. As for the walking dead..... They aren't finishing the story. Episode 2 will come out but after that they won't. They only have 25 employees now that are working on a minecraft for Netflix. Personally, I would recommend Gundam Seed for your first intro into the Gundam universe. Several Gundam shows don't require watching previous Gundam series to know what's going on. Another that I recommend would be Gundam 00.

Mobile Fighter G Gundam was pretty lit. it was aired on toonami back in the day. it's the only Gundam anime i enjoyed (i'm just not a mecha/futuristic anime fan).
